  • Business group: Canadian Digital Banking – Product & Design team – Product management and product design for digital properties for mobile and web relating to the Wealth Management business at the Bank.
  • This includes iTRADE as well as client Wealth Management business lines such as client McLeod, private investments.
  • Project: Advice initiative – working on platform to deliver digital advice for Canadian banking customers
  • We’re looking for a Content Designer to join our Trading, Investing, and Advice design team.
  • You’ll influence the content design of digital experiences that touch millions of people every day, putting client customers at the centre of everything you do.
  • Collaborating with other designers, product, engineering, and marketing, you’ll help identify the right problems to solve and be accountable for developing, writing, and optimizing content

Typical Day in Role:

  • Help to plan and craft clear, compelling content for a variety of web and mobile products, making them easier to use
  • Understand the client tone, brand voice, and writing style
  • Partner with designers, researchers, product managers, developers, and business lines to understand content requirements and deliver compelling experiences
  • Participate in design reviews and collaborate with product managers and designers on content strategy, concepts, navigation, and storytelling
  • Conduct market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and best practices
  • Ensure content is accurate, consistent, and adheres to brand guidelines and voice
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather information and insights for content creation
  • Work in an agile environment, helping to identify and advocate for the best content processes or delivery methods in multidisciplinary teams

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

  • 5+ years of experience in UX writing, content design, content strategy, technical writing, or similar
  • 5+ years’ experience with writing and editing, with a strong command of grammar, syntax, style, and a focus on plain language writing
  • 2-3+ years’ experience with information architecture and organizing information clearly and logically within a digital experience
  • 2+ years of professional experience designing web applications
  • 1+ year recent experience working in highly matrixed large complex organizations (e.g. FI / banking)

Nice-To-Have Skills:

  • Familiarity in content management systems, Figma
  • Strong understanding of collaboration suites such as Slack
  • An understanding of scrum teams and collaborating with designers, developers, product owners, researchers, digital accessibility specialists, translation teams, and legal and compliance (Agile)
  • A natural curiosity for personal finance

  • Ideal candidate has experience providing UX writing and content design expertise on full user flows and digital experiences in mobile and web digital product environments – working collaboratively with product designers, product owners, and engineering teams throughout the agile product cycle.
  • In addition to product content writing experience, the candidate should have basic understanding of service design, information architecture, journey mapping, wire framing, and usability research.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on cutting edge market platforms and take a content lead position within the team. The role will involve planning and crafting clear, compelling content for web and mobile products, as well as collaborating with various teams and stakeholders. The candidate must have 5+ years of experience in content design, technical writing, and web applications, as well as strong communication and project management skills. A bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field is required. The ideal candidate is expected to have experience providing UX writing and content design expertise and should be prepared for MS Teams video interviews. The position is a contract for 6 months in Toronto.
