Charge Nurse – RN

Unit: Sub-Acute Post Acute Care

Status: Full-Time

Shift: Day

Location: Newport Beach, CA

Job Summary

The Charge Nurse is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the care of patients in a Sub-Acute Post Acute Care setting. The Charge Nurse is a registered nurse who serves as a leader, clinical expert, and caregiver for patients and their families. This role involves providing direct patient care, mentoring staff, coordinating interdisciplinary team meetings, and ensuring compliance with all policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

– Coordinate and oversee care of patients in the Sub-Acute Post Acute Care unit
– Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, treatments, and assessments
– Serve as a leader and mentor to staff, providing guidance and support
– Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other members of the interdisciplinary team
– Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including infection control and quality assurance standards
– Participate in quality improvement initiatives and staff education programs
– Act as a resource to patients and families, addressing concerns and providing information
– Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care activities

Qualifications

– Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California
– Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a Sub-Acute or Long-Term Care setting
– BLS certification required, ACLS certification preferred
– Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
– Excellent communication and leadership abilities
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
