Job Description:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Emergency Department team. As an RN in the Emergency Department, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in various stages of health and illness. You will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, as well as provide support and education to patients and their families.

The ideal candidate will have strong clinical knowledge and the ability to make quick and effective decisions in emergency situations. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible care for our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
– Assess and prioritize patient needs in the emergency department
– Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as ordered by the healthcare provider
– Monitor patient’s vital signs and conditions, and report any changes to the healthcare team
– Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans
– Provide education and support to patients and their families
– Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive, coordinated care

Qualifications:
– Graduation from an accredited nursing program
– Current registration as a Registered Nurse (RN) with the College and Association of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CARNA)
– BCLS certification required; ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certification considered an asset
– Previous experience in an emergency department or critical care setting preferred
– Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment
