Helping grow our business and fostering enduring relationships with publishers, our business team works hard to keep the digital bookshelves stocked and ready for anyone searching for their next favourite book or audiobook. And to ensure our customers are never stuck with that search, our editorial team looks for the best and most engaging stories on offer in our store and puts them in the limelight. We are looking for a passionate new Head of Apple Books to help drive our business with a Canadian sensibility, lead our editorial team. Like what you read? Then we want to hear from you!

Key Qualifications Key Qualifications

  • Managerial experience in publishing or curation based editorial (10+ years).
  • Significant business development and negotiation experience, specific to the publishing industry a plus. (10+ years)
  • A vast knowledge of the publishing landscape in both English and French Canada, and a good eye for new releases in this industry.
  • Extraordinary social and relationship-building interpersonal skills.
  • Outstanding organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Understanding of digital publishing, e-books and audiobooks.
  • Passion for and understanding of Apple brand and products.
  • Comfortable delivering against tight and sometimes shifting deadlines.
  • Ability to work with international peers collaboratively across timezones.
  • An ability to analyse and communicate results clearly and effectively to leaders with proficiency in Excel/Numbers and Keynote.
  • You are creative and resourceful and know how to think different.

Description Description

In this role, you will: – Build, maintain and expand business relationships with established and prospective Apple Books content partners such as publishers, agencies and authors. – Manage a team of opinionated Books editors and coordinate and execute editorial ideas and campaigns to grow our business in both official languages. – Help define the strategy of our books business in close collaboration with the local & global management teams. – Monitor upcoming releases and cultural moments, collaborating with management, editorial and marketing to execute promotional campaigns. – Inspire the editorial team to craft the best editorial experience possible. – Always think of the customer experience above all else.

Education & Experience Education & Experience

BA/BSc degree in a related field is a plus.
