Communications leadership and support is also provided for initiatives arising out of the various administrative units within the Dean’s Office.The Advancement Writer is responsible for crafting high impact content for proposals, cases for support, presentations, and other materials to move and engage prospective and current donors. The incumbent is a member of the Faculty Communications & Public Affairs team and writes strategic and emotive content including stewardship reports, donor letters, speaking notes and event and campaign materials, as well as news articles and media releases for use in a variety of outputs. The incumbent will also research, identify and cover strategic stories arising from the Faculty’s stated advancement priorities and that will engage community members both inside and outside the Faculty. The incumbent also takes a leading role in conceiving of and developing new content strategies that collectively support the Advancement needs of the Faculty and engage alumni, prospects and donors more deeply in positioning the Faculty and celebrating our individual and collective impact on the world around us.Your responsibilities will include:
- Writing and editing copy and content to advance communications objectives
- Liaising with the University’s central communication office to pitch and share stories
- Advising on approaches to content generation for writing assignments
- Tracking milestones and timelines for stories
- Researching and recommending story ideas that advance priorities and initiatives
- Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks, proposals and cases for support for internal clients
- Writing news and feature stories
- Editing content for brochures, newsletters, websites and/or handbooks
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum four (4) years of recent and related experience working in advancement communications as a writer or communications officer producing high impact, thoughtful and persuasive content and materials meant to influence current and prospective donors, alumni and other key stakeholders.
- Wide-ranging experience in communicating the meaning, impact and world relevance of a broad spectrum of complex ideas and themes to a variety of audiences.
- Experience researching, interviewing, writing, editing and reporting.
- Experience and proven success in providing superior service and support in a busy, deadline-driven, demanding environment.
- Experience working with a wide range of people from a variety of professional and social backgrounds.
- Experience using web content management systems and creating and uploading content for a variety of digital and social media.
- Experience working in an educational setting is preferred.
- Excellent and efficient writing skills and the ability to deliver complex and high-quality content in meaningful, inspiring ways in formats appropriate for a range of audiences on a variety of communication channels and media platforms.

Medical Laboratory Technologist
General Accountability:
The Medical Laboratory Technologist performs a variety of laboratory tests and procedures to assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of disease. The Technologist must be knowledgeable and skilled in all areas of the laboratory and maintain a high level of accuracy and precision in testing procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Perform a variety of laboratory tests using manual and automated equipment
– Prepare samples for analysis and interpret test results
– Maintain accurate records of all laboratory procedures performed
– Adhere to all laboratory safety protocols and infection control measures
– Communicate effectively with healthcare professionals regarding test results and patient care
– Perform quality control procedures and assist in the maintenance of laboratory equipment
– Participate in continuing education and training programs to stay current with new technologies and best practices in the field
Qualifications:
