Job description: Role: Senior QA Lead (Individual Contributor)Location: Remote-CanadaDuration: 12+ MonthsJob Description:Position OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior QA/BA Lead (Individual Contributor) todrive the quality assurance strategy, test planning, and execution for our software products.This role requires a hands-on professional who can work independently, while effectivelycollaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs), product owners, and engineers to ensurecomprehensive test coverage and high-quality releases.As a single contributor, the Senior QA Lead must be comfortable engaging directly withtechnical and business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand systemcomponents, and execute a robust testing strategy.Key Responsibilities1. Test Strategy & ExecutionDefine and implement test strategies, plans, and automation frameworks that alignwith product and business requirements.Design, execute, and maintain manual and automated test cases for functional,regression, integration, and performance testing.Identify, document, and track bugs, defects, and issues, ensuring timely resolution incollaboration with developers.Drive end-to-end testing efforts, ensuring system reliability, usability, and scalabilitybefore release.Leverage CI/CD pipelines to integrate automated tests and optimize testing efficiency.2. Data Quality & CatalogingWith an Understanding of data architecture and data modeling concepts, connect withstakeholders to document and catalog new data ingestion pipelinesCreate strict guidelines to ensure data being ingested is of the highest quality and workwith team to create automation3. Collaboration with SMEs & Business StakeholdersActively engage with subject matter experts (SMEs), product owners, and engineersto gain a deep understanding of system architecture, business logic, and user workflows.Participate in requirement reviews and technical discussions to anticipate testingneeds early in the development lifecycle.Ensure acceptance criteria are well-defined and validated against real-world scenarios.Effectively communicate quality insights, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders.4. Risk Management & Quality Assurance Best PracticesAssess risks, dependencies, and impact areas to prioritize testing efforts effectively.Advocate for and implement best practices in software quality assurance, includingtest automation, shift-left testing, and continuous improvement.Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) on defects and work closely with teams to preventrecurring issues.Ensure adherence to compliance, security, and performance benchmarks asneeded.5. Continuous Improvement & InnovationStay up to date with emerging QA trends, automation tools, and industry bestpractices.Continuously refine and optimize test coverage, automation frameworks, andexecution efficiency.Provide feedback on improving development workflows, release processes, andtesting methodologies.Required Qualifications & Experience5+ years of hands-on experience in software quality assurance, with a strong focuson both manual and automated testing.Expertise in test automation tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and scriptinglanguages (Python, JavaScript, etc.).Strong understanding of Agile methodologies, CI/CD workflows, and DevOpsintegration.Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured) and performancetesting tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with SMEs, developers, andbusiness teams.Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a passion for delivering high-qualitysoftware.Understanding of data architecture and data modeling conceptsStrong foundation in data governance frameworksUnderstanding of metadata managementExperience with data quality assessment#L!-CEIPAL
