Job Description:
Canadian Tire Corporation has an exciting opportunity for an Apparel Merchandiser at our Toronto head office. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the development and execution of the merchandising plan for assigned categories within our apparel department.
Key Responsibilities:
– Develop, implement, and analyze merchandising strategies for assigned categories to maximize sales and profitability
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams including product development, sourcing, marketing, and finance to ensure product assortment meets customer needs and company objectives
– Conduct competitive analysis and market research to identify trends, opportunities, and risks
– Manage vendor relationships, negotiate terms, and secure promotional opportunities
– Monitor inventory levels, sales performance, and seasonal trends to make data-driven decisions
– Create and present sales forecasts, reports, and presentations to senior management
– Stay up-to-date on industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitive landscape
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 3 years of experience in apparel merchandising or retail buying
– Bachelor’s degree in business, fashion, or related field
– Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel
– Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
– Knowledge of retail math, forecasting, and inventory management
