Candidates who apply for this position must be familiar with laws and regulations related to federal/state/provincial tax, labor laws, benefits, leave of absence, and worker’s compensation. Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel. Fluent in both English and French (Written and spoken), the candidate should be a member of the Canadian Payroll Association – Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or its US counterpart. Knowledge of HRIS systems (Ceridian/ADP) would be beneficial in this role as well.Responsibilities:

  • Payroll:
  • This position will take on payroll functions such as gathering/auditing payroll backup (timesheets), auditing payroll transactions, assisting and researching payroll issues/discrepancies, and participating in the organization’s month-end, quarterly, and/or year-end close
  • Ensure payroll-related data is accurate, complete, and current
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices and terms—this position will work closely with the different entities’ finance departments
  • Assist with tracking and completing U.S. garnishment notices, unemployment claims, and verification of employment forms
  • Work closely with finance, human resources, and legal teams
  • Ensure that payroll processes are aligned with the company’s goals and policies
  • Stay current with changes in payroll laws, state and city regulations/ordinances, and best practices, and implement any necessary changes to policies and procedures
  • Review and validate payroll tax deposits and filings each pay period and quarter
  • Prepare and present ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll-related reports and analyses as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies/errors
  • Partake in annual Financial Audit

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in payroll administration
  • Strong understanding of payroll processing, tax regulations, and compliance requirements
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Basic knowledge in accounting / payroll journal entries
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficient in HRIS/HCM and payroll software systems
  • Proficient in ADP/WFN and experience with Ceridian/Dayforce a plus
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel and Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, etc.)

Salary: $45,000 – $50,000 per year

A reputable food manufacturing company is seeking a Quality Assurance Assistant to join their team in Mississauga, ON. The successful candidate will support the Quality Assurance Manager in ensuring that the company’s products meet quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

– Conduct quality control tests and inspections on raw materials, in-process materials, and finished products
– Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with quality standards
