POSITION SUMMARY:
Based in Toronto, the NExT Summer Intern – Stereo Compositor will support the SDFX Studios team while gaining exposure to the stereoscopic VFX pipeline, processes, and industry standards. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone interested in pursuing a career in visual effects, stereoscopic conversion, and/or the entertainment industry.
About SDFX Studios: One of the creative brands of Company 3, is a world leader in creating the finest quality stereoscopic 3D versions of 2D-captured moving picture content.
MAIN DUTIES:
A day in the life of this position may include:
- Using compositing techniques inside of Nuke, including creating cleanplates, tracking, rotoscoping, keying, and color matching to convert delivered material into dynamic 3D shots.
- Working closely with supervisors and team members to evaluate the creative and technical approach for assigned shots.
- Review and implement feedback quickly and effectively to ensure shots are delivered to the highest standards and on schedule.
- Learning the studio pipeline and procedures.
In addition, interns will participate in a cohort-based curriculum where they will:
- Explore various career paths through interactive workshops and a guest speaker series.
- Engage in professional development to set career goals and build workplace skills.
WHAT YOU BRING:
As the ideal candidate, you will have demonstrable interests in visual effects, compositing, stereoscopic conversion, film and/or other visual media.
You will also have:
- Ability to see stereo 3D.
- Basic knowledge of stereo VFX and compositing techniques.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to take direction, handle multiple tasks, and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with others.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal) with comfort in interacting with employees at all levels of the organization.
Previous knowledge of Nuke, After Effects, Mocha, and Silhouette is a plus but not a requirement.

Internship Details:
- Internships are paid, full-time positions (maximum of 40 hours per week).
