THE ROLEWe’re on the lookout for a Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT) with a passion for building systems and a drive to learn, contribute, and grow. In this hands-on role, you’ll work on a range of mechanical system designs—from HVAC and plumbing to fire protection—for projects across Canada. RESPONSIBILITIESConduct heating and cooling load analysis using HAP; familiarity with energy modeling tools is a bonusShape initial mechanical design strategies during early project phases and carry them through to detailed construction documentationSize and specify mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection through precise engineering calculationsCollaborate closely with a P.Eng and contribute to technical drawings and design packages using Revit and AutoCADLiaise with clients, architects, contractors, and consultants to align design goals and project expectationsResearch equipment options, connect with vendors, and assist with product selectionsReview shop drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirementsSupport construction administration: respond to RFIs, issue site instructions, and draft change noticesConduct field reviews and site audits to ensure installation meets code and design standards WHAT’S REQUIREDBachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a Canadian-accredited institutionMinimum of 1 year of industry experience in Canada in a building engineering environmentFoundational knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systemsAbility to read, interpret, and create mechanical design drawingsExperience with Revit and AutoCAD (a significant advantage) * Registered EIT with PEO or eligible for registration
