  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related field.
  • (Preferred) Master’s degree in Power Systems Engineering or related studies.
  • Basic understanding of power system analysis, transmission, and distribution studies.
  • Experience or coursework with PSS®E, PSCAD, CYME, and GIS software.
  • Proficiency in Python, MATLAB, and Visual Basic (VB) for scripting and automation.
  • Knowledge of databases (SQL, MS Access, PostgreSQL, or similar) for power system data management.
  • Familiarity with load flow, short-circuit, and stability analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and technical writing abilities.
  • Ability to collaborate in multidisciplinary teams and work in a structured environment.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn new tools and technologies.

Studies may include near-term and long-term transmission planning, generator interconnection studies, reliability-driven transmission project alternatives development, and NERC standards compliance analyses.How you can make an impact:

  • Perform Generation Integration and Interconnection efforts within the Western Interconnection and Electric Reliability Council of Texas (ERCOT) footprint.
  • Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
  • Support business development activities within ERCOT and/or the West.
  • Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.
  • Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.
  • It is a plus if the candidate is able to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.
  • Contribute to Knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
  • Attend and participate in meetings and conferences on engineering and technical issues and report key findings.
