  • Review IFC package prior to construction start.
  • Participate in pre-construction and post-construction/lessons learned meetings.
  • Complete Field Risk Assessment & Hazard Evaluation, Review Contractor’s Safety procedures, Sign on to the tailboard on site.
  • Complete daily field audit for the projects assigned. Prepare daily log with photos of all activities.
  • Verify construction work is completed in accordance with design, regulatory, safety and client standards, applicable laws, and guidelines (e.g., MTO Book 7, MCR etc.).
  • Verification of conformance to O. Reg 22/04.
  • Issue Safety Non-Compliance Reports if required. Monitor contractor’s corrective actions for violations of safety practices, plans and procedures or regulatory requirements.
  • Issue Quality Non-Compliance Reports if required. Monitor contractor’s corrective actions for deficiencies or non-adherence to design and standards.
  • Verify Contractor’s monthly billing and Change Orders.
  • Perform final walk down to ensure scope of work completed and ready for intended service, prepare list of deficiencies, warranty holdback release.
  • Review As-built package and prepare Project Finalization Report for project close out.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Certified technician or Engineering Degree
  • Must have demonstrated over 3 to 5 years of dedicated experience in inspecting industrial, utility and infrastructure projects
  • Member of the PEO as a EIT or P.Eng an asset.
  • Completion of IHSA Training to work on Toronto Hydro Plant and having training of Confined Space considered asset.
  • Knowledge about THESL distribution standards and working experiences with Toronto Hydro project is asset.
  • Familiar working knowledge with occupational health & safety act (OHSA), construction standards and specifications in Ontario and City of Toronto (OPS, MCR) and experienced working with ACI & AISC codes is an asset.
  • Knowledge to witness and oversee conducting appropriate material testing and compaction on various materials such as aggregates; concrete, and pipe bedding
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.

Qualifications:
