Job description: Description:Job Title: The Assistant Family ManagerThe Assistant Family Manager – High Voltage Batteries will be responsible for BEV Battery system and component execution, typically for up to 2 or 3 different batteries depending on complexity. The Battery Family Manager leads cross functional team and guarantees all deliverables and targets identified in the approved initiative over the product development lifecycle (timing, cost, performance, quality, etc.), be the single point contact for product team members for the given scope of work, and reports to the Global Family Manager.Job responsibilities of the Battery Family Manager include but not limited to:

  • Manages all aspects of the assigned program to assure cost, timing, quality and performance achievement
  • Coordinates cross functional family team involved in program targets achievement
  • Be responsible to ensure program budget achievement identifying all possible efficiencies vs. approved business case
  • Ensures procedures, best practices and methodologies application according to required standards and leads program documentation creation, monitoring and updating in line with Global Powertrain (propulsion systems) Development Process
  • Be responsible to ensure product readiness to support approved launches while defining appropriate timing milestones for the given project and leading the change review meetings
  • Reports programs status, risk management and issue resolution
  • Identifies program requirements and assembles cross-functional department information/data to take decisions in the appropriate forum to meet program objectives
  • Co-leads proactive risk management tasks with the Quality Manager and platform team and tracks/leads risk status update
  • Supports the technical reviews/evaluations in respect to program targets/milestones
  • Supports global purchasing and global manufacturing strategies
  • Leads the responses to investigate/action bulletins related to product/process changes
  • Coordination and implementation of value optimization and quality improvement activities
  • Manages product lifecycle, including support of supply chain and logistics issues to guarantee production continuity

Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5-8 years’ experience in product development engineering with at least THREE (3) years of program management experience with an Automotive OEM or Tier 1 supplier
  • Strong cross functional team management skills along with superior written and oral skills

Additional Must Haves:

  • Strong communications skills in the English language. This person will be responsible for organizing and speaking to presentations that get reviewed all of the way up to a SVP level.
  • Experience with engineering design and release. A big part of the job is following up with engineers to get part released, ordered and sent to the assembly site.
  • Experience with time line development and recovery actions. This person will be responsible for keeping the battery program on track.
  • Experience with managing a development budget. Tracking costs to a budget and finding offsets for overages is a big part of the job.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to deal with a high pressure environment. The battery programs are challenging and we are all learning as a team to execute them for the first time.
  • No Driving of Company vehicle
  • Remote work with once a week at CTC in Auburn Hills AND up to once a week or as needed at Windsor Assy Plant, ARDC Test Facility, or LG Battery Plant. Candidate must have the necessary visa to accommodate this requirement.
  • Some additional travel to other sites in Canada may be required such as the Windsor assembly plant. This could be daily trips for a week or two at a time for build events. Or, an occasional week long trip to Mexico.

  • Program manager – Electric Motor Calibration team.
  • We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Program Manager to lead our Electric Motor Calibration Team.
  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing calibration timelines and deliverables, coordinating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring smooth communication to remove any gridlocks.
  • This role requires a strong background in engine, transmission, and electric powertrain (EPT) calibration, as well as proficiency in ETAS INCA, CAN communications, and software release processes.

Job Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Manage Calibration Timelines and Deliverables: Oversee and ensure timely completion of calibration projects, meeting all deadlines and quality standards.
  • Coordinate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with various departments to manage content and requirements, ensuring alignment and integration across teams.
  • Remove Gridlocks: Identify and resolve any obstacles or bottlenecks in the calibration process through effective cross-functional interaction.
  • Communication: Serve as a key communicator, facilitating clear and effective communication between team members and stakeholders.
  • Data Analysis: Read and interpret engine, transmission, and EPT controller data to support calibration activities.
  • Software Release Process: Manage the software release process, ensuring all calibration updates are properly integrated and tested.

Requirement:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in engine, transmission, or EPT calibration.
  • Data Interpretation: Ability to read and analyze engine, transmission, and EPT controller data.
  • Software Release: Experience with software release processes.
  • Team Collaboration: Proven ability to work effectively as a team member in a cross-functional environment.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English.
  • Diagnostic Tools: Must have experience with data acquisition and development diagnostic tools such as INCA, Vector tools: CANalyzer.
  • Valid Canada driver’s license
  • Driving a Stellantis vehicle is required
  • Hybrid Work (2 days remote work) and might go to 5 days if working on critical projects
  • No travel to the US required
