Responsibilities:Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Day to day field staking in accordance with project design.
- Quantity pick-up and calculation.
- Effectively communicates proper layout information to relevant parties in a timely manner.
- Troubleshoot survey layout and machine control data onsite; ensure data is correct and updated.
- Troubleshoot and repair all survey equipment.
- Communicate with Design Engineers regarding project design.
Qualifications:Qualifications
- Extensive GPS Construction layout experience using Trimble or Topcon equipment with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
- Post-Secondary Education in a surveyor program from an accredited technical school would be an asset. High School Diploma is required.
- Teamwork – Proven ability establishing and maintaining harmonious working relationships with internal and external clients that promotes good morale, cooperation and a sense of belonging within the team.
- The ideal candidate will be Alberta based, with an expectation that the role is primarily based on site in the Wood Buffalo Region
- Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
Requirements
- Alcohol, Drug and Fit to Work testing is a pre-employment requirement.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
- Must have (or be willing and able to obtain) CSTS09/OSSA Regional or BSO or CSO, Intermediate First Aid, H2S Alive, Bear Awareness (in class), H2S Alive or Awareness.
- Be prepared to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Provide your own CSA Approved safety boots that are a minimum of 6″ high and fully laceable.
Working Conditions
- Must be willing to stay in camp doing 20/10 rotation.
- Must be able to work up to 12 hours a day.
- Must be able to work day or night shifts.

- Expect to handle noise and vibrations on the job.
