- Perform voltage drop calculations for lighting systems
- Prepare detailed wiring diagrams for traffic signal and lighting installations
- Design ductbanks and cabling infrastructure for lighting and signal systems
- Generate contractual deliverables from models for client submission
- Review and interpret existing conditions, drawings, and specifications
- Prepare drawings in strict accordance with CADD requirements and design directives
- Participate in interdisciplinary coordination and interface resolution meetings
- Liaise with clients, co-consultants, and attend workshops to present design concepts
- Apply a proactive, entrepreneurial attitude to problem-solving and client engagement
What you’ll bring to WSP:Core Qualifications:
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in engineering or design
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role

Technical Qualifications:
- Experience with roadway lighting, tunnel lighting and traffic signal system
- Experience with PHM-125 traffic signal drawings
- Familiarity with City of Toronto Traffic Signal Standards, Region of Peel specifications, Toronto Hydro and Alectra Utilities standards
- Knowledge of Toronto Hydro and Alectra coordination processes
- Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, AGI32
- Experience producing consistent and professional CADD drawings
- Familiarity with TTC/Metrolinx CADD standards
- Experience in drawing control and version registration
- Ensure compliance with ESA, CSA, and other applicable codes and standards
Desirable Qualifications:
- Leadership and team coordination experience
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams in a matrix organization
- Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio)

- Support a team of Analysts and Engineers to perform quality analysis and control for on-going Rail & Transit projects and proposals
- Lead the development of a Transportation Systems Quality Management System for the Transportation Systems Engineering Group and support maintenance of the ISO 9001:2015 certification
- Develop QMP and all associated procedure required for major projects, as per the contract and ISO 9001:2025 requirements
- Review Project Management Plans including Safety/Quality Plans, Work Plans, Risk Management Plans, and Communications Plans from a rail systems perspective
- Monitor all Transportation Systems quality related activities on the projects, and liaison with the client’s Quality representative on all Rail & Transit quality related issues
- Plan and lead project audit reports for current and new projects, including the required rail systems quality, financial, risk, and performance analysis (KPIs)
- Develop, implement, and maintain specific procedures governing Transportation Systems Quality Assurance processes, including flowcharts, roles and responsibilities, metric definitions, and measurement & analysis techniques
- Train and monitor project teams on the QMS requirements, Root Cause Analysis, and Continuous Improvement techniques
- Coordinate the resolution of Transportation Systems technical issues between WSP, Client, suppliers, and subcontractors to enforce contract requirements and to ensure appropriate standards are met
- Monitor the disposition of all issued nonconformance reports and statistical methods reporting, monitor job progress, ensuring change orders are processed, recognizing potential claims, and implement safety and quality control procedures
- Review and act upon customer complaints and project and quality performance issues
- Potential need to travel to support projects, and client’s needs
What you’ll bring to WSP:
- University degree in Engineering recognized by the Professional Engineers of Ontario
- Recognized quality assurance/quality control designation
- On-the-job training combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Rail Systems projects using CENELEC and/or AREMA standards
- Internal and/or Lead Auditor certificate
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Rail & Transit or equivalent
- PMP certification and/or P.Eng license are favorable
- Experience in a Consulting Engineering environment
- Require sound knowledge of Rail Systems Quality Assurance and Quality Control principles, methods and practices and comprehensive knowledge of test methods and documentation
- Demonstrated technical leadership and management experience
- Understanding of Rail Systems Engineering Concepts, including technical, project, and functional requirements analysis, system breakdown structures, and decomposition of system requirements into subsystem requirements
- Experience in different Phases of the Engineering Design Life Cycle (Proposal, CDR, PDR, FDR) and System Testing and Integration Life Cycle (test plan, test case, FAT, SAT, Reliability and Availability)
- Possess sound judgement; good organizational, administrative, interpersonal, verbal communication, and technical report writing skills as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to deal with complex issues and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of management.
