Job description:
Gaucho Group is currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in all aspects of kitchen management, including menu planning, inventory control, and ensuring high standards of food quality and presentation. The Sous Chef will also supervise and train kitchen staff, oversee food preparation, and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Key responsibilities:
– Assisting the Head Chef in menu planning and development
– Ensuring food quality and presentation meet company standards
– Managing kitchen inventory and ordering supplies as needed
– Supervising and training kitchen staff
– Overseeing food preparation, including cooking, plating, and garnishing
– Ensuring a clean, safe, and organized work environment
– Adhering to all health and safety regulations
– Collaborating with other team members to ensure smooth kitchen operation
– Assisting in the development of new recipes and dishes
– Maintaining high standards of food hygiene and sanitation
Qualifications:
– Proven experience as a Sous Chef or relevant role in a high-volume kitchen
– Extensive knowledge of culinary techniques and best practices
– Strong leadership and communication skills
– Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
– Knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations
– Excellent organizational and time management abilities
