Job Description

Sika Canada Inc. Internship Program is looking for collaborative results-oriented candidates with strong critical thinking and communication skills. The internship is designed to give you an understanding of how safety is driven at a company who prioritizes safety first and has a strong safety culture.

During the internship, you will be exposed to various aspects of customer service management. You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to provide a solid foundation to build a career in the construction material manufacturing.

Duration: 4 Months Internship (May 1st to August 30th, 2024)

Overview: Under the mandate of the Vice-President Customer Experience and in collaboration with the Customer Service Team Lead, a Customer Service Representative is responsible for:

  • Processing customer orders in SAP
  • Coordinating with Logistics, Production and Inventory Planning to ensure that customers receive their products on-time.
  • Communicating regularly with Sales Representatives in each target market to support customer needs.
  • Supporting existing accounts and maintaining a strong relationship with key contacts.

Core Functions:

Support Sika’s Customer Service department by participating in projects or initiatives identified by the site. This could include:

  • Enter orders, process payments and ensure shipment
  • In each order, verify products, quantity, pricing, shipping dates and special requirements including export documents and technical documents where necessary.
  • Coordinate with Team Leads, Logistics, Production and Inventory Planning to ensure that products are delivered on-time.
  • Receive inbound calls and emails and provide existing or prospective customers with information on placing an order, order details, pricing information or necessary documentation.
  • Ensuring complete customer satisfaction, when required, coordinate with teams to complete files that may include returns, credits, delays or claims.

Qualifications

Minimum requirement

  • College degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Customer Service
  • Must have excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Experience with SAP would be a strong asset
  • Experience with Salesforce would be an asset
  • Follow Sika’s training applicable to the position including SMS, Health and Safety, Environment

Preferred Education

  • Pursuing a college degree in business or any related field.

Location of internship is Brantford, ON. Internship will be conducted in-person

  • Post daily deposits, wire transfers and credit card payments in G/L and customer accounts
  • Prepare daily bank deposits
  • Reconcile deductions from deductions report and general clean up of accounts assigned by Credit Supervisor
  • Other duties assigned by Credit Supervisor on a requirement basis
