This position is to assist a current student in learning dispatching and obtaining logistical experience in transportation. The candidate will be learning to work with our dispatch applications that assist our trucking business. Responsibilities:
- Responsible for communicating the load plan to drivers and customers.
- Ensure the drivers have the proper instructions to perform their duties safely.
- Listen to all driver concerns and act on them appropriately.
- Ensure the company meets all customer requirements and any changes are communicated immediately.
- Ensure the dispatch system is up to date.
- Ensure trailer interior washes are completed where required.
- Ensure all orders and trip events are recorded in the transportation management system in an accurate and timely fashion.
- Ensure that invoicing and driver pay are completed daily.
- Audit TMW reports for compliance requirements.
- Ensure service failure reports are recorded in the transportation management system and brought to the terminal manager’s attention or designate.
- Ensure all drivers and equipment meet regulatory and corporate compliance.
- Assign the proper equipment for the jurisdiction and job requirements.
- Ensure that the drivers have adequate time to perform their duties safely and within the hours of work regulations. Qualifications:
- A keen eye for detail with a high degree of accuracy
- Strong written and verbal skills at the business level.
- Self-starter with the ability to work effectively with internal business users.
- Ability to adapt between independent and team projects, in the role of member/leader/mentor.
- Ability to manage time among multiple assignments in a busy, fast-paced work environment. Benefits:
