Reporting to the Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice-President of Growth Marketing will be an ambitious results-oriented leader, responsible to lead all product marketing, lead generation and communications initiatives for our company. The ideal candidate will be a strategic marketing professional that has demonstrated strong leadership in a fast-paced digital environment and has proven capabilities in terms of building brand engagement that resonates in a multi-faceted SMB and/or consumer-oriented marketplace.

Job Description

What you will do:

1. Product Marketing

  • Collaborate with the product and technology teams to establish and execute on marketing’s role in the effective roll-out of new solutions. Align on persona development, user experience and product positioning to enhance prospect and customer engagement.
  • Aligned to our overall value proposition and brand promise, support business development with appropriate training, promotional and programmatic vehicles reflecting our evolving product feature and benefit set.

2. Branding, Positioning and Communication

  • Collaborating with outside agencies, cross-functional and direct marketing teams, lead the launch of a new brand and play an important role in the new digital experience for the company reflecting our product expansion strategy.
  • Build and communicate the value propositions to distinct prospects and customer segments through a variety of digital and off-line media vehicles.
  • Lead and execute the development of editorial content, public relations and social media strategies in support of the brand. Drive awareness and lead generation and support recruiting.
  • Identify speaking engagements and conferences to increase our thought leadership profile.
  • Manage allocated budgets towards objectives.

3. Lead Generation, Opportunity Nurturing and Conversion

  • Partner with business development and channel management teams on strategies and programmatic marketing activities to generate leads, nurture opportunities and re-market solutions to existing and previous clients.
  • Collaborate with business development and finance around pricing strategies for market segments.

4. Improve Effectiveness and Yield

  • Manage the cost of acquisition with business development and performance marketing vehicles.
  • Create appropriate Roles / Responsibilities and performance metrics for direct reports
  • Understand conversion rates, drivers and implement improvement initiatives.

The Role

Reporting to the Vice-President, Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist plays an integral role on the small yet dynamic communications team at Postmedia. The Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for coordinating projects and assisting the team with a variety of communication initiatives including: website and intranet management, social media monitoring, tool design and development all targeted at both internal and external audiences.

Ongoing high demand for communication support across Postmedia requires this employee to deliver communications and project-management support in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment while working on interesting, challenging and varied communication projects. A juggler with equal passion for words and technology would be ideal.

You can manage and prioritize multiple projects with ease, have a good sense of how to develop and adhere to corporate processes and you take pride in ensuring that communications projects remain on track while managing multiple, sometimes competing deadlines (see juggler note above). You collaborative approach, collegial attitude and can interact professionally and confidently with colleagues at all levels to understand and meet their needs. You are a curious problem solver with a creative approach to bridging gaps while delivering on objectives.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Project Management, Analysis and Reporting – You’ll ensure that the team stays on track with project deliverables and prepare updates and reports that measure progress and analyze results.
  • Website management – You will develop content, editorial calendar and manage updates for both the corporate website and employee intranet. Requires proficiency with WordPress and SharePoint. Working knowledge of design and video editing software strongly preferred.
  • Media Monitoring – You will be responsible for the collection, development and distribution of a number of Daily News Briefs on specific topics of interest
  • Internal/Employee Communications & Event Planning – You will contribute to the planning of quarterly Employee Communications, developing materials as required. You will also assist in planning, logistics, and execution for internal employee events, both online and in-person.
  • Group email box management – timely reviewing, re-directing and/or responding to inquiries ensuring that outreach is addressed in a timely and professional manner consistently.

Who you are:

  • Training with a focus on Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or other related fields or a combination of training and experience.
  • 4-6 years related experience in an agency or corporate environment
  • Excellent business storytelling skills, creative problem solver, strong time management skills, detail-oriented, independent self-starter, strong interpersonal skills and sense of urgency, sound judgment, negotiation skills, and a commitment to exceptional client service under tight-timelines and with multiple deliverables
  • Ability work independently and thrive in a fast-paced environment exercising tact, diplomacy, and discretion when managing confidential information
  • Experience with content writing, design, and planning across multiple platforms
  • Proficiency using visual design and video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premier Pro)
  • Understanding and interpretation of platform analytics
  • Understanding/experience with social listening/moderation and industry tools
  • Proficiency with online polling platforms (e.g., Survey Monkey)
  • Strong working knowledge of PC applications including MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and Microsoft SharePoint
