You do this by breaking through with innovative ideas while delivering against business objectives in an industry that is both growing and highly competitive.

Reporting to the Director, Digital & Base Marketing, you will shape our digital experience and optimize our website to drive conversion and engagement. This role combines strategy and cross-functional collaboration with execution, delivery, and measurement of results that inform the next data-driven decision. You will work closely with many internal teams such as Marketing, Digital/IT, Sales and Service to understand their objectives, friction points and opportunities to create a best in class, customer experience digitally.

What you will be doing:

  • Own the strategic vision for the role of the website in our customers journey
  • Ongoing website optimization to achieve increased engagement for both organic and paid campaigns
  • Define and lead the website merchandising and offer placement strategy
  • Regularly review website performance to proactively recommend improvements
  • Lead ongoing SEO based on best practices and audits, working with the Digital team
  • Actively participate in Campaign Planning to ensure that our digital properties guide visitors through the marketing funnel from click to conversion
  • Reveal and implement solutions for prospect-to-lead conversion and moving visitors through the funnel
  • Identify, build and execute on A/B and multivariate tests to support business objectives.
  • Analyze and evaluate A/B tests, report on results and recommend next steps.
  • Leverage web personalization to drive business outcomes
  • Leverage data insights to optimize cross-linking strategies to lead the customer from awareness to consideration stages
  • Conduct competitive and content audits to increase website engagement
  • Define customer experiences that capture behavioural insights that enrich CRM data
  • Identify opportunities to drive adoption and engagement of self-serve tools to create operational efficiencies
  • Influence digital capability requirements, identify gaps and recommend enhancements that will drive deeper customer engagement in digital channels
  • Work with the Digital Channel Specialist to execute on plans, monitor and troubleshoot issues
  • Ensure full compliance of the website with laws and regulations

What you bring to the role:

  • 5+ years of managing customer-facing digital environments, with a focus on websites in a B2B role
  • A deep understanding and passion for Conversion Rate Optimization (CRO) for web in a B2B environment
  • Growth mindset, ability to derive strategy from targeted business outcomes
  • Working knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, cross-browser and cross-platform compatibility
  • Experience working with user experience (UX) principles to create and drive desired behaviours across digital channels
  • Relentless curiosity with a passion for data, insights, proving out a hypothesis with testing
  • Understanding of website/digital best practices for B2B buyers
  • Advanced knowledge of SEO best practices
  • A critical eye for website copy, headlines and offers in order to best serve our customers, provide direct and concise briefs and feedback to content and editorial teams
  • Post-Secondary education in fields relating to Marketing, Digital Commerce or equivalent
  • Familiar with marketing technology platforms and digital tools such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud
  • Understanding of digital performance analytics, and able to turn data into actionable insights
  • Excellent time and project management skills, keen attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment with a natural curiosity to explore and action new ideas

While the Rogers for Business Head Office is in Toronto, ON this position is open to candidates in all work locations across Canada.

Job Description:

Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing & Communications, Sun Life Global Investments (SLGI), the Digital Marketing Product Owner is responsible for maximizing the value of the product and the work of the Scrum Team. It’s a one-person role (supported by a collaborative business team) which brings the advisor/client perspective of the product to the Scrum Team. The role requires a capable decision maker who works closely with marketing stakeholders, business unit stakeholders and digital teams to develop innovative, Client-focused digital solutions to meet business needs.

What will you do?

  • Developing and maintaining a product vision and a market strategy
  • Provides input into the business case and helps to define and obtain approval for required funding to maximize product value
  • Provides updates on funding and manages the funding/budget for the product
  • Communicating Business, Client, and End User goals to all interested parties
  • Product management:
  • Creating, ordering and managing a Product Backlog
  • Develop user stories, define acceptance criteria and be available to the Scrum team to provide clarity whenever required
  • Organizing the backlog into incremental releases
  • Identify and involve stakeholders, centres of excellence, subject matter experts and end-users in Product Backlog refinement and backlog management activities
  • Communicating decisions and priorities to all interested parties
  • Co-ordinating the involvement of Business Subject Matter Experts, stakeholders and end users
  • Organizational Change management and communications
  • Accountable for approval and governance in Organizational Risk Review Boards
  • Alignment with other Product Owners when needed from an overall product, company, or client perspective to ensure there is consistency across products and product releases
  • Be an agile change agent – support organizational change management when required
  • During Sprint Execution, the Product Owner will be involved in:
  • Sprint Planning preparation
  • Participating in daily Scrum meetings (optional)
  • Prioritizing the team’s backlog. Includes balancing new features, enablers, defect fixes, dependencies, and removing technical debt
  • “Just in time” elaboration of the backlog into User Stories
  • Answering the team’s questions and providing clarity on User Stories
  • Articulate and validate the Definition of Done, the Definition of Release and validate/provide acceptance on user stories once they are completed
  • Providing acceptance when User Stories are completed
  • Chair Sprint Demo/Review sessions and participate in Retrospective ceremonies
  • Assess risks, impacts and manage dependencies across teams (Waterfall, Agile, etc.), including communication strategies and coordination activities

What will be nice to have?

  • Certified Scrum Product Owner training (to be provided)
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Business, Marketing, Digital, Communications or a related field.
  • 5 years digital marketing experience with solid understanding of UI, UX and IA.
  • Experience with Agile development and delivery methods preferred. Experience with Waterfall methodologies also an asset.
  • Direct experience managing client relationships and consulting on digital solutions to meet business needs/goals.
  • Strong understanding of digital marketing best practices and trends, including SEO and web accessibility.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors.
