Your opportunity:
Within DUA, Advancement Communications and Marketing (ACM) provides strategic planning, creative development and production support for central and divisional fundraising and alumni relations activities.
Reporting to the Director, Digital Marketing and Communications, the Digital Marketing Developer is responsible for executing and supporting a range of digital communications in support of the Faculty of Medicine and other divisions where workload permits. This will include creating professional email messages for mass distribution, updating text images and other digital assets, pulling reports on online marketing performance and generally assisting with the administration of online communications and services.
As an integral part of the ACM team, the incumbent works closely with designers, writers, program managers and coordinators to support the Faculty’s and the University’s alumni outreach and fundraising efforts.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Formatting layout of online information
- Verifying that websites are compliant with the University’s web space guide
- Customizing website according to objectives or user feedback
- Maintaining information on digital platforms
- Determining logistical details required for email campaigns across departments
- Checking digital objects for quality control
- Collecting digital assets for online platform use
- Responding to enquiries within the defined scope of the role and redirecting as appropriate
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years of relevant experience in implementing and executing mass email marketing campaigns
- Experience in updating and maintaining websites using a content management system
- Experience with creating professional-quality HTML email messages for mass distribution
- Experience with testing for quality assurance
- Demonstrated ability to create HTML documents to precise design and coding specifications, maximizing compatibility with popular e-mail clients while adhering to rigorous accessibility standards, using Adobe Dreamweaver or similar HTML-editing software. Experience with responsive development of e-mails.
- Demonstrated ability to manipulate complex content management systems including WordPress to modify websites, including changes/additions to website navigation, creation/modification of page content and the creation of web forms. Requires knowledge of front-end web development (HTML5/CSS, Javascript/JQuery)
- Demonstratedability to manipulate digital images using Adobe Photoshop or Fireworks, including cropping, resizing, and making adjustments to color, contrast, brightness, file format and file compression.
- Good knowledge of accessibility and usability standards and best-practices in website and email design.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent typing and written communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize simultaneous tasks and modify processes as needed to meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, with a keen eye for catching errors and inconsistencies.
