Key Responsibilities:

You will be responsible for the strategic development and operational implementation of Digital strategic plans/solutions for key brands. You will manage complex partnerships with various vendors and ensure compliance is maintained with all the Digital solutions developed. You will participate and liaise with Marketing and cross functional teams locally and with other Digital teams globally. You’ act as a local subject matter expert on a core Digital workstream (Web, Social Media, Email, Digital Analytics etc…). So this is what we need from you;

More specifically:

Digital marketing:

  • A proven track record in leveraging search engine strategies (SEM/SEO) and deep understanding of the current Google approach
  • Ability to design and co-create end to end digital omnichannel journeys that provides our customers with added value experiences
  • A proven track record in Social Media technology and strategy , including Adwords etc…
  • Knowledge and experience with Google Analytics and other digital measurement tools
  • Understanding of Direct to Consumer advertising and CASL (anti- spam legislation)
  • Knowledge of Health Canada and PAAB regulations would be an asset
  • Knowledge of the external Digital landscape and a keen interest in innovation especially in the context of Digital Marketing

Digital Technology:

  • Experience with the successful implementation of corporately provided IT/Digital technology platforms for local use (scope of work, considerations, recommendations, planning, implementation, controls)
  • Familiar with agile concept and methodology to implement large scale initiatives in an iterative manner
  • Ability to manage multiple projects with a focus on strategy and execution and ensure appropriate and complex processes and procedures are followed
  • Knowledge of CRM and emailing platforms and well versed in integrating CRM solutions

Head office role –This role is determined to be a flexible worker, where on-site presence in the Toronto office is expected to be 4-12 days per month, as determined by your manager and business needs.

Your opportunity:

Creative Destruction Lab (CDL) is a non-profit organization that delivers an objectives-based program for massively scalable, seed-stage, science- and technology-based companies. Its mission is to accelerate the commercialization of science for the betterment of humankind. CDL is a global program with sites at Oxford, Paris, Toronto, Vancouver, Montreal, Calgary, Halifax, Atlanta, Seattle, Wisconsin, Estonia, and Berlin. The program’s objective-setting process enhances the performance of technical founders who learn from the insights of experienced entrepreneurs, increasing their probability of success. Each stream within each CDL site hosts a series of 4 annual objective-setting sessions that are the primary mechanisms by which the program is delivered. CDL sessions are complex, full-day events that may be hosted virtually or in person and that bring together participating start-ups, mentors, partners, and business students. At the end of each annual program cycle, CDL hosts a two-day event called Super Session that brings together graduating start-ups as well as mentors, partners, and students from across the network.

The CDL Marketing Team has the following key focus areas: Brand and Creative (all encompassing strategy that brings together perception, values, affiliations, vision, communication andexperience), Community (engaging internal and external CDL network to spark meaningful conversations online and offline), Content (curate stories about the CDL network to increase brand awareness and interest), Email (optimize structure, quality and relevance of emails), Media and PR (develop strong relationships with media outlets and leverage earned media coverage to increase brand awareness and interest), Recruitment (leverage marketing tactics to complement and enhance recruitment efforts), Social Media (deliver high-quality, relevant and engaging social content), and Website (showcase CDL in an intuitive and concise manner).

Reporting to the Associate Director managing marketing and communications, you will be responsible for planning and developing an integrated multi-channel communications strategy independently. Developing and implementing digital communication campaigns and programs that support strategic objectives. Drafting and editing content for print and/or online communications channels. Developing and maintaining guidelines and procedures for web and digital media standards, content and use. Providing detailed analysis and recommendations on the suitability of major new technology and software systems. Advising on best practices and strategies to maximize digital communication initiatives. Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance. Fostering and maintaining positive relationships with senior management to gain approval for strategies and plans. Developing and implementing social media programs and initiatives independently. Developing and implementing social media operational procedures and best practices that support strategic objectives. Advising on strategies to maximize social media presence and growth.
