Role Overview:
As a Senior Financial Analyst, you will support various streams across the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) teams. This role involves budgeting, forecasting, variance reporting, and analysis of operating costs. You will communicate results to senior leaders to enhance decision-making and proactively partner with the business to understand the link between operational and financial results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead strategic planning, annual operating budgets, and monthly reforecasts.
  • Identify and investigate monthly and quarterly variances to budget and forecast, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and potential risks.
  • Prepare reports and analysis at month and quarter-end to communicate financial results to FP&A and business leadership.
  • Create and maintain complex financial models and dashboards to narrate financial performance with minimal direction required from the Manager.
  • Participate in cross-functional initiatives and ad hoc projects to provide financial analysis for decision support.
  • Support in complex revenue and/or margin analysis and KPI planning to identify performance trends and leverage them to identify risks or opportunities to the financial outlook.
  • Perform complex scenario planning and assess its impact on revenue and/or margin.
  • Project manage SG&A reporting and dashboard enhancements, facilitating coordination and rollout across the wider FP&A team.
  • Act as a coach to other Financial Analysts within the team.

Qualifications:

  • Over 4 years of progressive finance, financial analysis, and reporting experience in fast-paced business environments.
  • Retail industry experience is an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • CPA or MBA is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Oracle Hyperion or large financial planning software is a plus.
  • Strong financial background with the ability to analyze complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey financial information to various stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and mentor junior staff.
