  • Assist in gathering, cleaning, and analyzing data to support business decisions.
  • Create and maintain reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Excel, Power BI, or other tools.
  • Identify trends and provide insights from data analysis.

Documentation & Process Improvement

  • Help document business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
  • Support the development of process maps and flowcharts.
  • Assist in creating presentations, reports, and other business documentation.

Research & Market Analysis

  • Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and best practices.
  • Gather insights on customer needs and market opportunities.

Stakeholder Communication & Support

  • Assist in preparing materials for meetings with stakeholders.
  • Provide administrative support for project tracking and coordination.

Position Requirements:

  • Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, formulas, charts).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Basic SQL knowledge for querying databases (optional but useful).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint) for creating documentation.
  • Understanding of basic business concepts (profitability, KPIs, workflows).
  • Exposure to ERP or CRM systems is helpful but not required.
  • Currently enrolled in relevant college/university program.

Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or other related scientific or technical discipline with a preference for a standing of a
sophomore or higher.Example Projects Within the Role Include:

  • Automation (with scripting) of repetitive design and test tasks using software tools like Python or Matlab
  • Creating data structures (e.g. in SQL) to store engineering test data
  • Developing simple GUI or CLI interfaces to retrieve and interact with engineering test data (e.g. using Python, Flask, etc.)
  • Communicate with other design team members about requirements, design rationale, analysis of designs, and any issues clearly and openly
  • Participate in the improvement of organizational processes and documentation

Position Requirements:

  • Intermediate level skills in Python or Matlab
  • Basic understanding of source control principles (e.g. Git, archiving, commits, PR process)
  • Basic knowledge of relational database structures (e.g. SQL)
  • Good written communications and documentation skills

Beyond the basic required skills, additional consideration will be given to advanced applicants who have experience in the following specialty
areas:

  • Intermediate/Advanced familiarity with Python data and numerical analysis tools (Numpy, Pandas, Matplotlib)
  • Experience with Flask web applications
  • Experience interfacing to equipment using a SCPI or VISA interface
  • Embedded control hardware, microcontrollers, basic embedded code
  • Experience with a community documentation paradigm (i.e. Wiki, etc.)
