  • Pursue emissions testing opportunities in Ontario and abroad.
  • Prepare quotations per WSP standard requirements.
  • Liaise with clients and governments to develop testing programs.
  • Liaise with laboratories to verify validity of testing program methodologies.
  • Liaise with other WSP teams such and air and noise permitting to provide full scope of services to clients.
  • Conduct work using source testing methodologies such as those described in the Ontario Source Testing Code (OSTC), by ECCC, and by the US EPA.
  • Modify sampling methods to create solutions to unique problems.
  • Manage budgets, health and safety requirements, and training needs.
  • Manage scheduling of field programs and deliverable timelines.
  • Depending on the role, manage junior and intermediate staff.
  • Conduct field testing with travel, projects ranging from 2 days to 3 weeks at a time. Work is generally in Ontario but could also include broader work nationally and internationally.
  • Work long hours and/or on weekends as required.
  • Work as part of a team, including senior staff, possibly supervising junior and intermediate staff.
  • Work at heights on stack platforms, rooftops, scaffolds, man-lifts, scissor lifts, etc.
  • Climb ladders as required.
  • Work outdoors in most weather conditions (-30°C to 40°C, rain, snow).
  • Handle chemicals and heavy equipment (lifting up to 50 lbs required) and perform maintenance.
  • Process data (Excel) and prepare reports (Word and PDF).
  • Maintain client relationships.

What you’ll bring to WSP:

  • Degree or diploma in chemistry, engineering, environmental sciences, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in emissions testing and stack testing.
  • Experience communicating with industrial clients and navigating industrial facilities and processes.
  • Experience with the OSTC, ECCC, and USA EPA source testing methodologies.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated competence with Excel, Word, and PDF software.
  • Demonstrated work-related travel experience.
  • Valid Ontario driver’s license with a good driving record.
  • Experience in driving a van with a trailer is a plus.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions (-30°C to 40°C).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5-15 years experience in Ontario source testing.
