  • Assisting with Design Development: Support the creation of construction plans and details. Help with the design development of watermains and sewers.
  • Perform Design Calculations: Perform engineering calculations to ensure the efficiency and effectiveness of designs. Assist in preparing design specifications and estimates.
  • Preparing Technical Reports: Support the preparation of detailed technical reports documenting project specifications, design calculations, and regulatory compliance, ensuring clear communication among stakeholders and demonstrating successful design implementation.
  • Applying Engineering & CAD Software: Utilize civil engineering software for modeling and analysis. Assist in the preparation of technical drawings and documentation using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
  • Field Work and Data Collection: Participate in occasional site visits to monitor project progress, audit contract requirements, and collect photographic information on work progress.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with senior engineers and project managers. Communicate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
  • Industry Research & Design Development: Meet with industry suppliers and support researching new technologies and methods for watermain and sewer design. Assist in the development of innovative solutions to design challenges.
  • Quality Assurance & Control: Help ensure that designs meet regulatory standards and client requirements. Participate in quality control reviews and revisions.

You bring to the role:

  • Currently enrolled in a Civil Engineering degree co-op program at an accredited University.
  • Strong CAD skills, and experience with AutoCAD/MicroStation is required.
  • Positive team attitude and approach, results oriented and ability to work independently.
  • Passion for learning, challenges and your field of study.
  • Interested in innovation, sustainability, safety and quality.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
