Candidates must reside in Canada.)Reporting to the Director of Fundraising and Marketing Analytics, the Specialist, Web Analytics is responsible for the delivery and furthering the development of digital analytics, in support of the Foundation’s fundraising and marketing programs, as to best drive net revenue growth, supporter loyalty and supporter engagement.They will be responsible for managing the configuration of Google Analytics 4 (GA4) and tagging across our web properties. The role involves configuring GA4 properties, setting up and managing events, ensuring data accuracy and security through effective use of Google Tag Manager (GTM), supporting the integration of associated digital analytics and marketing technologies, and supporting IT in ensuring secure access management and privacy controls are in place. Furthermore, the Specialist will help troubleshoot tracking issues, develop self-serve dashboards and reports to serve digital analytics clients, and help to build data fluency at the Foundation.In addition to technical responsibilities, the Specialist will work collaboratively with business, IT, and external vendors to provide digital analytics support and subject-matter expertise in a fast-paced, fluid environment and ensure optimization of tracking strategies. They will also be responsible for managing digital analytics partners, including workflow, SOW coordination and budgeting.How you will make an impact every dayGA4 Implementation and ManagementSetup and configure GA4 properties and data streamsCustomize and manage GA4 events and key eventsSupport IT with ensuring secure access management to web analytics platforms is maintainedWork with IT to ensure best practice PII and security controls are in place protectCollaborate with internal clients to understand their business objectives and translate into analytics integration and technology strategy and requirementsEnsure digital analytics data is appropriately integrated into larger Analytics eco-systemTroubleshoot and debug digital analytics issues when they arisePromote platform literacy and self-serve reporting and train platform users on GA4 and tagging best practicesTag ManagementCollaborate with internal clients to develop end-to-end digital tracking and evaluation plans for Foundation programsImplement and manage tags using Google Tag Manager (GTM) and other tag management systemsCreate and maintain containers, tags, triggers, variables and custom scripts to ensure accurate tracking and reportingWork with agency partners to implement and maintain agency tags, tracking pixels, etcDocument, test and validate tag implementation to ensure data accuracy and integrityProvide technical support to internal teams around analytics tagging data validation and data integrationData visualization, dashboarding, reports and analysisCollaborate with internal clients to gather requirements for the design, build and production of reports and dashboards using Power BIEngage in marketing analytics activities and communicate insights to help program leads further program objectivesMonitor and optimize data collection to improve data quality and reporting accuracyData strategy and innovationKeep up to date on market trends, research new technology uses and advancementsDocument existing processes and data flows relating to digital analyticsCollaborate with internal stakeholders on improving data fluency by helping democratize digital data, insights and technology changesVendor managementManage budget and vendor activities in relation to digital analytics work outsourcedWho we needEducationUniversity degree or certification in analytics, computer science, software engineering, or equivalent industry experienceGoogle Analytics CertificationData Analytics, data science or Google Tag Management (GTM) certification would be an assetExperienceMinimum 5 years of experience working in Digital Analytics supporting digital marketing or e-commerceMinimum 3 years experience with Google Analytics, and at least one of those years with Google Analytics 4 (GA4).Minimum 2 years experience with Google Tag Manager (GTM)Experience developing reports and dashboards using front-end reporting tools (Looker Studio, Power BI, Tableau) and configuring back-end data sourcesSkillsAdvanced understanding of web analytics methodologies and tracking technologiesFamiliarity with JavaScript and HTMLExperience working with GA4 data in BigQueryExcellent analytical & problem-solving skills including statistical probability, correlations, etc.Exceptional written and verbal Communication skills; ability to tailor communications to audienceExceptional planning, organizational and project management skills with acute attention to detailStrong understanding of web analytics, tagging, and the digital tracking methodologiesStrong ability to manage multiple demandsAbility to work efficiently under conditions of multiple deadlinesStrong interpersonal skills including collaboration and consultation as part of a teamAbility to translate complex ideas to layperson languageExperience managing external relationships and good customer service skillsWhat we offerAt Heart & Stroke, we make it a priority to foster a culture of caring by implementing practices and programs that foster respect, compassion, trust and attentiveness to our own and others’ health and well-being.In addition to a competitive salary, we believe that time off is integral to the personal health and wellness of our employees.
