Job description: As a member of a multi-disciplinary health care team, the Neuropsychologist will provide direct cognitive and behavioural assessment as well as treatment services for Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) patients in an inpatient rehabilitation setting. The Neuropsychologist will work with and supervise the unit Behavioural Therapist and Psychometrist as well as Rehabilitation Therapists helping to implement various treatment programs. The Neuropsychologist will provide consultation to other health care professionals, team members, families and patients regarding diagnosis and treatment strategies. The Neuropsychologist will provide cognitive and behavioural consultation to the inpatient teams as well as assist in developing related treatment programs for patients as well as to work with families and external agencies in a liaison role to also facilitate implementation of related strategies. The Neuropsychologist will provide supervision to staff and other learners including involvement in Hamilton Health Sciences accredited Neuropsychology Internship Program.Qualifications1. Ph.D. in psychology with a strong background in biological psychology and/or neurosciences2. Registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists in Ontario in the areas of Neuropsychology and Clinical Psychology (adult population)3. Previous experience in conducting cognitive-behavioural and behavioural approaches to the treatment of psychological disorders and rehabilitation4. Experience in preparing applications to granting agencies (includes scholarships and research grants)5. Knowledge of both battery and process approaches to neuropsychological assessment and interpretation6. Ability to apply principles of behaviour modification7. Ability to supervise staff including neuropsychology residents, behaviour therapists, psychometrists, and rehabilitation therapists8. Eligible for a part-time faculty appointment with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Neurosciences at McMaster University9. Excellent leadership, teaching and written and oral communication skills10. Proficiency in both Official Languages would be an asset.

Job description: Summary of Duties
The successful candidate will provide neuropsychological evaluation services to clinicians within the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre. Referrals are received from cognitive and stroke neurologists, psychiatrists, and neurosurgeons.The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Conduct outpatient diagnostic neuropsychological evaluations for patients presenting with a broad range of neurological, psychiatric, and medical conditions
- Provide clinical supervision for trainees (i.e., practicum students)
- Document within Sunnycare for all clinical contact maintained as per professional and hospital requirements.
- Engage in collaborative research initiatives with scientists in the Hurvitz Brain Sciences Program at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre.
Qualifications/Skills
- Certification in neuropsychology from a CPA/APA approved program
- Registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario (CPO) is required
- Completion of a 12 month internship
- Competency in conducting neuropsychological evaluations independently
- Clinical experience with a broad range of disorders, including neurodegenerative diseases, movement disorders, stroke, traumatic brain injury, and psychiatric and medically complex populations.
- Ability to use critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills to solve patient care issues
- Able to provide clinical supervision
- Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and manage ongoing projects in an efficient manner
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated program development and evaluation skills
- Ability to work independently as well as within a collaborative environment.

Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provides patient and family-centered care
