Location: Remote – CanadaEDUCATIONAL RECOMMENDATIONSCurrently a candidate for Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Physics, or a related quantitative field with an accredited school in Canada.Responsibilities:As part of our team, you will:

  • Characterize active and passive photonic devices and integrated circuits
  • Support test development and analyze measurement data to validate design performance
  • Develop and optimize test approaches for both wafer-level and system-level photonic components
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, modeling, and systems teams to co-develop photonic solutions

Qualifications:

  • Hands-on lab experience with optical testing, fiber-to-chip coupling, and design verification
  • Programming skills in Python or C/C++
  • Familiarity with optics simulation tools such as Lumerical

It would be nice if you also had:

  • Experience in photonic integrated circuit (PIC) design, layout, and modeling
  • Understanding of coherent optics or optical communication systems
  • Experience with high-frequency/RF photonics modeling
  • Familiarity with RF test equipment (e.g., VNAs, spectrum analyzers, AWGs)
