Job description: We are seeking a Openshift Cloud Engineer to migrate applications from Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF) to OpenShift Container Platform 4 (OCP4). This transition will enhance scalability, container orchestration, and operational efficiency across our services.In this role, you will:

  • Analyze and understand the architecture, dependencies, and deployment configurations of applications running on Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
  • Lead migration strategies to transition applications from PCF to OpenShift, ensuring operational continuity
  • Implement configuration changes and deploy applications on OpenShift, following standard processes for container orchestration and management
  • Trouble shoot and resolve issues related to deployment failures, container errors, and platform-specific challenges during and after migration
  • Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and resource efficiency in OpenShift
  • Collaborate with development, DevOps, and operations teams to facilitate a smooth migration, provide documentation, and offer post-migration support

What you’ll need to succeed (required skills)

  • Hands-on experience with Openshift environments
  • API Optimization: Ensuring smooth API integration in the OCP4 environment
  • Containerization: Shifting workloads to a containerized infrastructure for better resource management
  • Security & Credentials Management: Preserving the secure handling of credentials during migration

What will help you stand out (preferred skills):

  • Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) Google Professional Cloud Architect Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift
  • Experience in Life and Annuities Insurance is a plus
