Role Description
A Solution Engineer (pre-sales) with the Healthcare and Life Sciences team at Salesforce plays a pivotal role in aligning innovative digital strategies across four key sub-verticals: Provider, Payer, Pharmaceuticals, and Medical Devices. This pre-sales role focuses on collaborating with Account Executives to create strategic account plans, execute discovery, develop customer solutions, and deliver presentations showcasing the technology and business value offered by Salesforce. As a Solution Engineer with Salesforce, you will:

  • Solve Business Problems – Take complex business problems, using research and business assessment capabilities, define the problem, drive innovative ideas, define the opportunity set, and recommend actionable next steps.
  • Drive Innovation – Bring rigor to a client’s decision-making process by presenting and evaluating solution options and driving consensus among key stakeholders. In some instances, we help our clients develop new decision frameworks and governance processes that continue to deliver value far beyond a particular engagement.
  • Connect the “Art of the Possible” – Demonstrate through software demos, rapid prototyping, and storytelling how connected experiences come to life with Salesforce. This includes but is not limited to the delivery of executive-level software demonstrations, construction of future state customer journey strategies, and developing long term IT road maps.
  • Deliver Business Value – As a Solution Engineer within Healthcare and Life Sciences, you’ll work with customers to understand the business value Salesforce brings. This includes return on investment, improved quality of care, and improved population health.

Your Impact:
A large component of the responsibilities will include assisting the sales team with discovery, analysis, and ultimately recommendations of strategic solutions for the customer. These solutions will leverage Salesforce’s technology to address the core challenges and objectives that are uniquely identified for each customer.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 3+ years professional experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Preferred Requirements:

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; persuasive and concise in presenting complex ideas to a non-technical audience
  • Experience leading value driven software demonstrations to executives and line of business users
  • Broad knowledge of technology trends and relevance to businesses
  • Ability to lead discovery / business requirements sessions with clients
  • Technology consulting experience with clients from various industries
  • Project management skills
  • Previous pre-sales experience as a Sales Engineer, Solution Consultant, or Solution Engineer

Key accountabilities:

  • Create digitally-engaging marketing copy for Community Giving campaigns that drive supporters to a call to action (donation campaigns, news/updates, patient and supporter engagement and more).
  • Tell the story of Sunnybrook’s staff, work and patients in a personable and creative way. You must be able to frequently adapt your writing style according to theme, voice and message.
  • Build and optimize fundraising and engagement emails.
  • Execute your ideas from start to finish using digital marketing tools and coding emails using HTML and CSS templates to build and edit campaigns.
  • Diligently review and test content to Sunnybrook’s communications and brand standards.
  • Using CRM tools and Google Analytics, establish campaign performance metrics to help make data-driven decisions to optimize future campaigns.
  • Support the creation of segment-specific automated audience journeys, by documenting plans, decision points and logical flows and outcomes.
  • Assist with drafting engaging and audience activating copy for various other types of digital content including landing pages, donate pages
  • Work with graphic designer(s) to produce compelling digital creative content.

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 5 years’ experience in a digital role.
  • Proficient in designing, building and deploying emails through Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including coding in HTML and CSS coding for email.
  • Experience writing for digital fundraising, engagement and storytelling, with a clear understanding of what message reaches which people best at the right time. Samples of work will be requested.
  • Strong understanding of data as it pertains to digital fundraising campaigns. Experience with Raisers Edge and/or Salesforce Marketing Cloud is an asset.
  • Good understanding of digital campaign execution and testing practices.
  • Comfortable working in Adobe Photoshop to edit/adapt creative work produced by designers.
  • Strong understanding of gathering and analyzing performance data from digital campaigns, including implementation and tracking of UTM parameters.
