The opportunity
Heart & Stroke is seeking a seasoned brand marketer who wants to make a difference to the health of Canadians. This role will be a key contributor to the planning and execution of brand and integrated fundraising initiatives. This role will lead the implementation and execution of strategic marketing plans in support of mission and fundraising (FR) goals to increase revenue, increase brand value and drive impact.
Reporting to the Director of Brand Strategy and Integrated Campaigns, this position requires expertise in marketing strategy development, brand equity management, digital marketing and media, and best in class creative development and execution.
How you will make an impact every day
Marketing Strategy Development & Campaign Planning
Contribute to annual brand planning with market research, brand health tracking and constituent insights as required.
Provide recommendations in the development of best-in-class brand and integrated fundraising plans
Develop channel plans in alignment with annual plans.
Collaborates with internal departments, including Mission, Fundraising and Communications to bring strategic priorities to market.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and lead development of briefs for creative, media and research vendors.
Lead the implementation and execution of the annual brand tracking study.
Campaign Management & Execution
Strategic support and day-to-day lead with external agency partners such as creative and media agencies in the development and implementation of integrated go-to-market plans
Manage execution of marketing initiatives for key programs, securing required approvals, and overseeing brand guidelines
Review and manage campaign budgets and timelines
Respond to and provide direction to agencies and vendors, including media and creative agencies
Performance lead for media campaigns (i.e. track, evaluate and measure campaign results against objectives, targets and KPIs)
Maintain regular communication with the Integrated Agency Team (IAT) for the purpose of regular status updates as well as campaign performance
Real time optimization or modification of campaign tactics, and as needed, implement contingency plans based on results to date, market conditions and new learning
Ensure cross functional teams are up to date and aware of campaign objectives and messaging through regular consultations and meetings.
Work with external partners, consultants and associated advisory groups/committees to engage required expertise and direction in developing and/or implementing campaigns
Manage French translation of marketing materials with internal translation team.
Campaign Reporting and Results
Lead and review the development of media analysis reports
Ensure the development of a 360 post-campaign holistic performance report working through the digital, analytics, communications and fundraising teams
Incorporate learnings and insights into future campaigns and annual plans.
Who we need
Education
University Degree in Marketing or Business preferred
Strong appreciation and understanding of the key principles of successful marketing, communications and advertising business development and execution
Experience
7+ years in brand marketing
Extensive experience in Growth and Performance Marketing – solid understanding of digital marketing and digital media (social, display, OLV, SEM etc.)
Experience planning and implementing 360 omnichannel marketing campaigns
Experience utilizing insights and analytics to help identify campaign target audiences
Skills
Able to effectively manage the complexity and ambiguity of ideas and concepts (health related) across projects and teams
Strong leadership skills with ability to motivate others
Anticipates and plans for future events, trends, issues and opportunities.
Proven high level of creativity and ability to innovate for growth, stimulating new ways of thinking and solving problems.
Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
Strong analytical skills partnered with creative thinking
