  • Work closely with software developers to design, implement, and debug the user interface (UI) for engineering simulation features.
  • Develop an Application Programming Interface for Thermal Desktop in Python
  • Continue support of C# based API
  • Assess production code for defects and enhance UI performance based on user feedback and testing.
  • Contribute to and maintain a consistent design system across all products to ensure uniformity and efficiency
  • Identify, prioritize, and address UX-focused software challenges, proposing effective solutions and collaborating with teams to implement them.
  • Present and justify design decisions clearly to stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and user needs.
  • Leverage experience with modeling and simulation software, particularly Ansys-type products, to design optimal workflows and user interactions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, or UX/User Interface
  • 2-3 years of UI/UX design experience with a strong portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, and high-quality UI work..
  • 2+ years of experience in C++, C#/.NET, and Python with broad and deep understanding of the languages
  • Experience in the full development cycle for a software product, from ideation to shipment
  • Solid understanding of front-end technologies, UI patterns, and design trends.
  • Is detail-oriented and utilizes highly developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Understanding of the software development process and ability to communicate well with software development teams
  • Previous coding experience
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and creatively to address design challenges.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation Applications: Familiarity with tools and technologies for UI implementation in modeling and simulation environments, specifically in engineering and scientific software.
  • Design System Experience: Experience contributing to and leveraging design systems to ensure consistency and scalability across multiple products.
  • Rapid Prototyping: Ability to prototype rapidly using various tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD, etc.) and adapt to changing design needs.

This position will play a vital role in supporting the DXP solution by supporting the overall conceptual design, look and feel of web site properties.
