The Role:
Mejuri is seeking a Senior Marketing Analyst to join our Marketing team. We have a tremendous appreciation for fact-based decision-making and we are always looking for passionate and curious individuals to provide data-driven strategic insights to support high-stakes marketing decisions! Of course, it’s not as simple as it sounds – to truly shine in this role, you will need to excel at proactively asking the right questions and distill the answers to those questions into meaningful strategic value, based on firm statistical evidence.
Reporting to the Director, Marketing Analytics, this role will benefit from strong attention to detail, technical proficiency, and an ability to translate complex findings to cross-functional teams. Ideally, you’re able to look beyond the aggregated numbers; instead, you seek to understand underlying patterns and can communicate what that means for our growing base of customers.
This role is tailor-made for the curious individual who wants to work in a fast-growing environment. You’ll have the chance to work with large volumes of data across key functional areas and identify opportunities for further data collection. In other words, this is a dream scenario for an experienced analyst!
Responsibilities:
- Monitor performance across all facets of the marketing organization, proactively initiating investigations on unexpected trends, distilling complex analyses into valuable business insights, and documenting implications for all affected stakeholders.
- Become an expert in Mejuri’s customer and subscriber base, working in tandem with cross-functional teams to organize, interpret and manage our first-party data to provide continuous strategic insights to our Retention and Growth Marketing teams. This will include building segmentation models and cohort-based analyses to understand who our strongest customers are and when/where they were acquired.
- Support the development of an in-house marketing attribution model, incorporating it into our ongoing marketing budget allocation processes, and continuously evolving it to accommodate new channels and validating to ensure accuracy.
- Scale impact of data by working with Mejuri’s Data team to develop light BI tools and core reports.
- Develop sound marketing experiment designs to unlock impactful discoveries in a rigorous and repeatable manner.
- Contribute to peer reviews and code reviews for colleagues in the broader Data and Analytics team.
- Support annual strategic planning activities by building defensible forecasts and other business models for revenue and other key business drivers.
The successful candidate will have:
- 5+ years experience in relevant data analytics or business intelligence roles – preferably in a marketing and omnichannel DTC environment.
- Driven, creative, intellectually curious, and able to effectively collaborate cross-functionally, partnering with stakeholders to drive business performance.
- Proficient in the use of SQL for data extraction, manipulation, and analyses; including stored procedures, complex joins, creation of views, and database scripting. Strong grasp of analytical database design concepts.
- Extensive experience in Visualization tools (preferably Looker).
- Deep understanding of KPI selection, financial and sales metrics relevant for a growing retail business, and business case development.
- Strong understanding of applied statistics skills, such as statistical testing, regression, mathematical techniques, etc.
- Experience excelling in an agile/sprint environment and project tracking software (eg. Jira, Asana) is an asset.
- Acute attention to detail, excellent written and verbal communication skills for explaining analytic approaches to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
- Experience working within Google suite of productivity apps (Google Gmail, Sheets, Docs, and Drive, mainly). Proficiency with spreadsheet-based formulas (eg. Excel/Sheets).
Mejuri is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Mejuri welcomes and encourages applications from people with disabilities.
Accommodations are available on request for candidates taking part in all aspects of the selection process.
