Further information about our Board of Directors is available at: .The PositionWe are seeking a young Canadian person (between 18-24 years of age) to join our Board of Directors as a voting member in November 2024 with orientation and mentorship starting in the summer of 2024. You must be able to commit to a 3-year term.Plan International Canada has a history of including youth voices in its decision-making processes. Our first Youth Board member joined us in 2021 for a 3-year term, and we are now recruiting for our second youth Board member.We look to our Youth Board Member to bring fresh perspectives and innovative ideas to our Board discussions that resonate with today’s younger generation. We believe that the unique insights of young people enrich our strategic planning processes and ensure that our programs and initiatives remain relevant and impactful.What is the level of commitment required?
- Our Board members meet on a quarterly basis using a hybrid format, conducting two meetings in person at our Toronto office and two meetings virtually. The in-person sessions span a full day, whereas the virtual meetings are conducted over two days.
- 1 – 2 extra Board or Committee meetings per year may be required.
- In addition to serving on our Board, you may be invited to attend quarterly meetings of our Youth Advisory Council.
- You will be required to attend our comprehensive orientation program in the summer/early fall of 2024 and complete the necessary background preparation to participate effectively in meetings of the Board and the Youth Advisory Council.
- You will be expected to work inclusively, co-operatively, and respectfully with other Board members and with Plan International Canada’s management and staff and members of the Youth Advisory Council.
This is a volunteer position. You will be reimbursed for travel and other related expenses related to your participation on the Board of Directors.As our ideal candidate you will have:
- Completed or be in pursuit of a post-secondary level education.
- Demonstrated leadership through personal and/or professional experience.
- A positive, can-do approach.
- A commitment to children’s rights and equality for girls.

Our client, a leading infrastructure, procurement and construction company, is currently seeking a Planner to join their team in Calgary. As the Planner, you will be responsible for providing planning and scheduling support for various construction projects.
