  • Designing trials that validate the ability to produce products to defined specifications at scale, including troubleshooting challenges seen at scale in order to refine sustainable processes;
  • Coordinating with Production Planning and Operations teams to schedule and execute trials;
  • Performing analysis of product samples (analytical chemistry, quantitative and qualitative analysis);
  • Processing and analyze data;
  • Presenting and discuss data and results in team meetings;
  • Drafting test procedures and prepare documentation for R&D and scale-up trials that are compliant and align with the needs of Operations and Quality Assurance teams;
  • Working with Category team and stakeholders, develop and write SOPs and other documentation required to launch and manufacture new products through Aurora’s MOC

  • Overseeing the IT PMO for the department.
  • Owning the project intake process which identifies and categorizes value added business projects that require IT involvement. With the help of the business partners and IT SMEs, develop the high-level business requirements, the constraints, assumptions, risks budget, resources, scope, and timeline.
  • supporting the IT team, create and own project templates and help foster adoption through IT and the business.
  • Maintaining IT PMO methodologies, frameworks, and standards to ensure consistency across IT projects.
  • Developing and maintain a PMO roadmap and strategy.
  • Supporting IT portfolio management, including project prioritization, demand planning, and resource allocation.
  • Developing and maintain reporting and dashboards to provide visibility into spend across the overall IT department project budget (CAPEX/OPEX), individual project performance, risks, and resource utilization on a weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually utilizing the Stop Light Methodology.
  • Providing guidance, training, and mentorship to project managers and teams on PMO processes and tools.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project delivery efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Supporting IT Senior Leadership, ensure alignment of IT projects with business objectives and strategic goals.
  • Supporting and guide project managers in the execution of IT projects, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
  • Managing IT project documentation, templates, and knowledge repositories.
  • Driving project management best practices and is highly customer focused.
  • Owning the internal PMO communication and works closely with IT communications when communicating with the business with consistency and transparency.
  • Assisting of IT Senior Leadership, holds Project Managers accountable for budget, resources, timelines and outcome.
  • Overseeing IT SDLC project governance, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, best practices including our IT General Control Framework.
  • Leading SDLC process walkthroughs as part of the annual SOX audit.
  • Owning project intake that need to be included in the upcoming Budget. Categorize projects appropriately according to Investment Council recommendations. For example, current categories are Growth, and Maintenance.
  • Continuously assess and improve project management processes to ensure optimal project execution.
  • Overseeing timesheet approvals for projects, collaborate with finance and procurement teams to track project budgets and financials. Assist with project setup and administration in the timesheet system.
  • Working with PMs and coordinate with recruiting firms to onboard and renew contractors to support projects and the IT department.
  • Experience providing data-driven fact-based metrics on the health of a project portfolio.

  • A degree in Computing Science, Technology, Engineering, Science, Business or related discipline considered an asset.
  • Professional Project Management Certificate or greater (e.g., Project Management Institute (PMI), PRINCE2).
  • 5 years of progressive experience in a project management, PMO, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in project management tools such as Microsoft Project, ServiceNow, JIRA, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint), or similar platforms.
  • Must possess extensive knowledge and expertise in program/project management, portfolio management, systems development methodology and managing change.

Inthis role will focus on the scale-up and controlled operationalization of novel cannabis products and line extensions for Aurora’s Consumer and Medical channels in Canada and around the world.As the Technician, Product Launch you will focus on:

  • Working with Category teams to implement processes to produce products at scale within Aurora’s facilities. This involves a wide variety of product forms and manufacturing lines, including dried flower packaging, pre-rolls, infused pre-rolls, extracts and concentrates, gummies and other edibles, etc.
  • Designing trials that validate the ability to produce products to defined specifications at scale, including troubleshooting challenges seen at scale in order to refine sustainable processes;
  • Coordinating with Production Planning and Operations teams to schedule and execute trials;
  • Performing analysis of product samples (analytical chemistry, quantitative and qualitative analysis);
  • Processing and analyze data;
  • Presenting and discuss data and results in team meetings;
  • Drafting test procedures and prepare documentation for R&D and scale-up trials that are compliant and align with the needs of Operations and Quality Assurance teams;
  • Working with Category team and stakeholders, develop and write SOPs and other documentation required to launch and manufacture new products through Aurora’s MOC
  • Reporting on projects as needed by the Product Development team and other parts of the business;
  • As required, work with Engineering and Procurement to source, set up, calibrate, and qualification of instruments;
  • Working on developing industry standard and innovating packaging with Product Development / Procurement team, in accordance with National / Provincial regulations, for both recreational and medical channels;
  • Other related duties as assigned.

You will be setup for success if you have…

  • Minimum of B.Sc in Food Science, Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry or B.Eng, or other relevant scientific discipline;
  • Experience working in cannabis, pharma industries or a related field preferred.
  • Knowledge and expertise in one or more extraction technologies is an asset. Ideally the candidate will have experience with a combination of butane, ethanol, solventless and other extraction platforms;

  • Ability to manage and execute multiple projects concurrently is required;

  • Knowledge / Notions with AutoCAD/Adobe Illustrator considered an asset;
