  • Brainstorm, create, edit and upload original, compelling digital and cross-media content that supports the editorial mandate with formats including articles, galleries, series, interactive features and branded content
  • Work with a roster of diverse content contributors; sourcing, fielding pitches, editing content, managing invoice intake and budget tracking
  • Maintain updates with content assignments; managing the editorial calendar
  • Ensure timely, data-driven comprehensive coverage of important events and viral recipes – calendar, seasonal, trending
  • Efficiently build content in WordPress and other priority content management systems
  • Honouring brand style guides: Edit for grammatical, punctuation and spelling errors across sites
  • Ensure all content adheres to SEO best practices and Strategist recommendations
  • Coordinate with other brands to align content for cross-promotion and audience sharing
  • Source high-quality editorially accurate images and size using Photoshop, adhering to our site specs
  • Work with Digital Producers to ensure alignment of series-related content with the content strategy
  • Meet targets set by Strategists, departments, sales and marketing campaigns, and related business goals
  • Collaborate with so.da on ideation and execution of content
  • Manage execution of so.da original series and related excellent digital content and editorial
  • Occasional opportunity to contribute content to Corus lifestyle brands and appear on-camera, across different platforms

Skills and Experience you will bring:

  • 2-3 years of experience in editing, writing, and content creation
  • Expert-level skills in copy editing, proofreading, and ensuring adherence to style guides
  • A background in recipe editing and writing for digital platforms is required (recipe development for video is a significant asset)
  • A solid understanding of the type of content that appeals to and engages target digital audiences within the food entertainment, cooking and lifestyle space
  • Excellent writing and recipe content packaging skills with a strong understanding of SEO
  • Understanding of analytics, including Google Analytics and Adobe Analytics
  • Ability to manage and source a diverse roster of freelancers
  • Strong Photoshop skills and experience deploying content via social platforms like Pinterest
  • Ability to meet deadlines and the capability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Exceptional organizational, communication and prioritization skills
