As a Tax Assistant your primary responsibilities will include assisting in various tax audits, assisting in commodity and income tax compliance, monitoring and following up on pension payments, preparing journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliations. In this position you will also assist the tax team with various projects and administration work. You will gain an understanding of how a Canadian Corporate Tax department works as well as acquiring experience working with the SAP General Ledger system and learning to navigate through various modules.Job Requirements:

  • Good accounting knowledge and prior accounting or audit experience.
  • Proficiency with Windows based applications (especially Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint)

  • Build out insights related to consumer trends in digital and ecommerce through the collection and interpretation of the data
  • Coordinate with partners and retailers on the product catalogue including syndication, content and product portfolio imagery; Maintain the relationship with Diageo Canada’s digital shelf management agency GS1 including supplier performance and contract management
  • Assist retailers in development of their assortment strategy of Diageo products and start to build broader insights around the future of endless aisle and warehouse shipping in the future.
  • Collaborate with the Innovation and On Premise National Accounts teams to ensure innovation product details are available in the GS1 system so that national grocery accounts can list and launch these products as quickly as possible
  • Optimize details of Diageo’s existing product portfolio in GS1 so that Liquor Control Boards and third-party alcohol takeout and delivery applications can seamlessly integrate this information into their online platforms
  • Develop coordinated marketing plans across paid owned and earned media channels

Qualifications and Experience Required

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 3-5 years of experience in an omnichannel and e-commerce sales function within Consumer Packaged Goods Industry required
  • Healthy mix of performance and creative marketing skills
  • Office suite proficient including intermediate excel and strong PowerPoint skills
  • Prior involvement and proven advocacy in the digital and ecommerce space more broadly
  • Understanding of Nielsen, IRI and other syndicated data sources preferred
