Job Description:
Environmental Health & Safety Technician
Position Overview:
The Environmental Health & Safety Technician is responsible for promoting safe work practices and ensuring compliance with environmental regulations. They will work closely with the EHS Manager to develop, implement, and maintain programs to prevent injuries and illnesses in the workplace.
Duties and Responsibilities:
– Conduct regular inspections of the workplace to identify hazards and risks
– Assist in developing and implementing safety policies and procedures
– Provide training to employees on safety protocols and regulations
– Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and develop corrective actions
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations
– Assist in conducting environmental audits and monitoring program compliance
– Coordinate with outside agencies and organizations on EHS issues
Qualifications:
– Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or related field
– 2+ years of experience in environmental health & safety
– Knowledge of relevant regulations such as OSHA, EPA, and DOT
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills
– Ability to work independently and as part of a team
– Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
– Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation preferred
