This position is remote (based out of Ottawa and Toronto preferred) and reports to the Managing Director of Serco-Canada.Our Facility Management Bid Director will lead one or several bid pursuits and manage the transition process for our new Facility Management Business . You will support business development processes in Serco’s Facility Management and Site Services line of business. Work with BD team to identify opportunities and support the full business development cycle ahead of a Request for Proposal, including customer interfaces and local partnership discussionsKey Responsibilities include:

  • Thoroughly review bid/RFP invitations and public/private tender sites/forums to ensure situational knowledge of upcoming and current bid opportunities.
  • Lead development of Facility Management/Site Services solutions to deliver inclusive staffing, equipment, and subcontracting plans with a basis of estimate supporting a full technical and price solution.
  • Develop and execute bid strategies to deliver successful outcomes, including requirements management, interface management and compliance with bid specifications.
  • Ensure the bid meets all requirements, manage schedules and budgets and resolve issues to achieve successful bid submissions.
  • Act as Transition Manager for new FM business awards, ensuring successful implementation of bid strategies and solutions into the operations.

Qualifications :To be successful you will have:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field;
  • Professional Engineer (P.Eng) or similar designation is considered an asset.
  • Possess strong knowledge and understanding of construction science, sequence of work, construction contracts, and Canadian/provincial building codes is an asset.
  • Minimum 10 years in facility management or a related field;
  • Experience in bid and proposal development, work planning, cost estimating and government contracting.
  • Experience in facility management and operations on military bases would be an asset.
  • Knowledge of federal and provincial legislation and standards pertaining to facility management, construction, sustainability and energy efficiency is required.
  • Knowledge of project management principles and practices sufficient to lead cross-functional teams and consultants, including budget and schedule control and planning work programs.
  • Sound judgment, highly developed interpersonal skills, well-developed organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and Outlook packages).
  • Ability to travel 25%
