Position Overview:
The Director Contract Management- Mining will serve as a Senior Project Contracts Manager on medium to large-sized EPC/EPCM projects. This role involves promoting a collaborative environment, formulating plans, and executing overall contract management activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote a collaborative environment with open communication and serve as a project member in formulating plans and executing overall contract management activities.
- Direct the development of all contracts management activities, including overall project contracting strategy, individual contracts strategies, Request for Proposals, evaluation and award strategies, change management, contract management, claim prevention/mitigation programs, and project close-out.
- Perform senior-level claim reviews, evaluations, negotiations, and settlements.
- Provide general and direct supervision to the contracts management team.
- Ensure contracts management activities align with corporate Fluor Operating System Requirements (OSR) and established project and Contracts Management Plans, policies, and procedures.
- Oversee and manage the Contract Management process on the project from Pre-Award, Post-Award through Close-Out, including claims and back charges.
- Support the preparation of bid evaluation plans for large engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC) Request for Proposal (RFP) packages and participate in both technical and commercial bid evaluations.
- Ensure the quality of the Project RFP packages and Contract documents.
- Manage interfaces with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Project Controls, Quality, HSE, Finance, and Joint Venture Partners.
- Protect the Company’s and Client’s interests by enforcing warranties, mitigating risk, and providing oversight to the project contract management team.
Additional Duties:
- Provide support to Office Management by means of training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Assist in proposal development by preparing proposal write-ups, effort hour estimates, and supporting strategic sales strategies related to Contracts Management.
- Formulate contracting strategies for individual contracts.
- Conduct resource surveys and contract risk assessments; issue reports of findings.
- Support, guide, and implement changes in systems, processes, and procedures.
- Assess resource needs; prepare manpower and indirect estimates; develop and manage budgets for individual contracts.
- Review and approve award recommendations from a commercial aspect.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Job Requirements:
- An accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in an applicable field of study.
- More than fifteen (15) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to more than twenty (20) years.
- Experience in contract management within the mining industry.
