*As the Digital Marketing Strategist, you will:

  • Be skilled at analyzing data to uncover insights and optimize multi-channel campaign performance (both paid and unpaid)
  • Drive continued optimization of paid search campaigns through keyword management, performance analysis, feed optimization and more
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders with respect to channel objectives, requirements and key learnings
  • Leverage market and customer interaction data including marketing platform touches, sales metrics and software usage statistics to understand market and customer usage patterns and preferences
  • Develop observations and recommendations to improve marketing campaign performance and increase conversions based insights
  • Brainstorm new and creative growth strategies
  • Have strong knowledge of SEO, Google Analytics, Hubspot analytics, and more
  • Have working knowledge of the marketing and sales funnel, customer journeys, AB testing and automation tools
  • Plan and execute web, SEO/SEM, database marketing, email, social media, and display advertising campaigns
  • Work closely with Marketing Manager to build and meet marketing KPIs and execute effective marketing campaigns
  • Have strong writing and communication skills
  • Be curious and eager to learn from insights

What you’ll need

  • At least four (4) years’ experience leading digital marketing in a high-growth startup
  • Ability to turn data into actionable marketing insights
  • Demonstrable experience optimizing SEO/SEM, landing pages and user funnels
  • Experience managing email, social media and display advertising campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of web and marketing analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Hubspot analytics)
  • Experience in setting up and optimizing PPC campaigns on all major search engines
  • Ideally experience marketing in both B2C and B2B environments
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in marketing, business or a related field

About the role:
As the Digital Marketing Specialist, you will be responsible for generating demand for MCAN/XMC through strategic brand awareness initiatives and tactical, targeted content and campaign development.

You’ll be drawing on your strong, creative and analytical skills, deep understanding of the tools to execute efficiently and on budget – all while having great communication skills to successfully plan, design and analyze content across all target channels including SEO blog copy, social posts, sales enablement assets and landing pages.

Additional responsibilities include support at the corporate level of all digital marketing initiatives, compliance with brand guidelines and regulatory requirements, as well as working with the Director, Corporate Marketing to manage high-profile projects and develop the MCAN/XMC brands in target markets. Opportunity to learn all aspects of our external facing business and work with executives in charge of lending business, finance and human resources.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Create engaging, on-brand email marketing collateral
  • Design and functionality of all website content – creation, and implementation of the content strategy to ensure online objectives are met
  • Be the go-to person for the website(s), managing the day-to-day via the CMS, closely monitoring user behaviors to optimize for engagement and acquisition
  • Create and maintain content calendars and copy across social media platforms – Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn and Pinterest
  • Create and manage paid social campaigns across partner channels including, but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn
  • Develop weekly reports and dashboards to track performance and leverage insights to optimize digital marketing campaigns for all channels (web, social, etc.)
  • Optimization of marketing conversion paths, managing and optimizing CTAs, landing pages, and lead generation forms
  • Define ways to personalize user experiences to delight customers from onboarding to activation
  • Advise on strategy and tactics to drive on-site conversion and lead generation
  • Planning, development and execution of national digital programs and campaigns, including online advertising, web site strategy and design, social media, mobile, and deliverables
  • Developing, managing and designing layouts of communications such as presentations, newsletters, event support materials, research papers, and brochures etc.
  • Management and optimization of CRM and related integrations across the pipeline and conversion path

The work experience, skills, education that you bring to the role:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, digital media or equivalent or post-secondary education in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a financial industry and/or a mortgage lending company is an asset
  • Experienced working with Salesforce
  • Experienced in Ad Ops, Google Analytics, Google Ads, social ad platforms and best practices
  • Knowledge of SEO and SEM
  • Experienced working with SEMrush, Zapier, Unbounce and email applications
  • Experienced working with WordPress, HTML, CSS
  • Knowledge of AODA/accessibility and CASL requirements

Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Business or Marketing, Communications, or related field (Masters or PhD is a plus)
  • Minimum 2-5 year of experience online media/digital advertising analytics, research or similar fields
  • Minimum 2-5 years of experience working in a market research, PR or advertising agency environment
  • Experience with social conversation and listening tools (e.g., Pulsar, Crimson Hexagon, Brandwatch, Netbase, Quid, Trendkite, etc)
  • Experience working in the healthcare or pharmaceutical industries
  • Able to merge qualitative and quantitative data to devise insight-based campaign decisions, both strategic and tactical
  • Solid research skills and proven data interpretation capabilities
  • Experience in translating data and research into strategic insights and recommendations
  • Well versed in paid social, display and search, and web analytics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
