This project proposes to address the need for inclusivity and equity in healthcare research and access, with a specific focus on underserved populations, including Indigenous communities. By collaborating with Queen’s University, currently developing the curriculum of their new Faculty of Medicine based in an Indigenous community, we aim to develop innovative educational initiatives and best practices on implementing inclusive research within clinical trials (CTs), drug development, novel diagnostics enabled by emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning (ML), and precision medicine. Through these efforts, we also strive to foster trust, engagement, and participation from diverse patient populations

This internship position is located in CANADA , on site / hybrid.

Key Responsibilities

Conduct a comprehensive literature review and environmental scan of equitable health systems (includes focus such as on Community engagements and Digital/ Technological outreach and innovations)

Support the design of inclusive and indigenous principles as they relate to research and access. This involves the identification and development of data collection, sharing and analytics which enables trust worthy digital solutions

Facilitate the development of recommendations for integrating inclusivity and Indigeneity into research and access for both therapeutic and digital asset development and evaluation/validation.

Who You Are

You are enrolled in a Master’s degree in the field of Health Science, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical science, and are interested in applying your knowledge as well as getting to know the pharmaceutical industry in a modern working environment as part of an internship of at least 3 months.

Furthermore you are

Ability to work both independently and as a member of the team

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and time management

An understanding of inclusivity and indigeneity principles, or a desire to learn

Interest in Technology and Digital health with information literacy skills

Working knowledge of the healthcare landscape or desire to learn
