Job description: Reporting to the Mine Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of the Maintenance Department. You will be responsible for providing support to the Mobile Maintenance team by being accountable for directing the workforce in daily mechanical and electrical maintenance activities for all mining and mobile equipment, while ensuring compliance with all safety and regulatory procedures. You will ensure that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagle’s values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment.

  • Overseeing and providing expertise for all mechanical and electrical activities related to mining and mobile equipment maintenance;
  • Leading and coaching team members in the achievement of maintenance safety and productivity targets;
  • Developing and implementing standards and procedures that meet all statutory and regulatory requirements;
  • Assisting in the preparation of maintenance operating cost forecasts, budgets, and monthly maintenance reports;
  • Scheduling and planning electrical and mechanical maintenance to maximize equipment availability and reduce downtime.

Qualifications

  • 10 years’ experience in a maintenance capacity;
  • 5 years’ experience supervisory experience;
  • Sound interpersonal and management skills with the ability to lead and motivate a team of employees;
  • Experience with open pit mining equipment, notably with Ultra class size tires 795 and 798 is a strong asset;
  • Experience working at a remote work site is an asset;
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Suite applications especially Outlook, Excel, Word & PowerPoint.

  • Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine;
  • Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada.
