Core responsibilities include acquiring and managing the development of market-driven print and digital products, acquiring high performance authors and contributors, and managing the financial performance and growth of the portfolio. The Portfolio Manager is a strong collaborator across all functions in the business, and within the local, regional, and global product network. The Portfolio Manager maintains a strong market presence and regularly conducts customer-facing research to inform and validate portfolio decisions.This is a hybrid position located in Toronto, ON.What you will be doing:

  • Customer Insight – Ensure products and services meet current and future market needs through customer insight and deep understanding of the market; Conduct customer-facing research to predict and evaluate present and future customer needs; Identify market opportunities and define appropriate products, services and/or solutions to best serve those needs.
  • Financial Management – Determine appropriate allocation of investment across the portfolio; Build business cases to support market-driven product innovations or enhancements.
  • Product Development – Ensure products and services meet current and future market needs through deep understanding of the market; Consistently apply and evaluate customer feedback to products in development to ensure successful market launch.
  • Relationship Management – Work effectively across teams to execute product strategies and develop and launch products and services; Develop and maintain relationships with customers, prospects and subject matter experts who will help inform product development.
  • Change Management & Innovation – Embrace a culture of risk taking and innovation to build a pipeline of new product ideas and process improvements; Help guide MH’s digital transformation through new product innovations and process redesign and optimization.

You should apply if you have:

  • University degree or equivalent; MBA and/or other professional designation desirable.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of business experience in higher education market, product or brand management, product/services development and sales or marketing.
  • Strong financial acumen and decision-making skills.
  • Proven success in growing market share and revenue.
  • Experience in developing business plans and market opportunities.
  • Strong market research and analytical skills.
