Job description: Nature & Scope → Your Role at RootsYour objective is to maximize sales opportunities for our products on roots.com and ensure products are listed and maintained error free while always looking for ways to innovate and improve conversion and user experience.You collaborate with:
- Product Design and Technical – Collecting product knowledge details from relevant team members, striving for 100% accuracy of product details and descriptions
- Web Design – Ensuring merchandising-related assets are appropriately utilized and merchandising strategy for your department(s) supports the overall site strategy
- Studio – Communicating workback timelines to the Studio team for all related assets
- Marketing & PR – working with the marketing and PR teams to ensure product release dates coincide with promotions, events and other projects
- Email and Digital Marketing – Communicating product lists and product availability status for campaigns
Key Responsibilities → How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support Senior Manager, eCommerce Merchandising to achieve sales and margin targets
- Develop product data profiles for each item including UPC, style colour, price, product description, etc. feed into the roots.com product database
- Clearly communicate sample and product timelines to departments. Work with Design, Technical and Product Merchandising teams to secure product knowledge details
- Coordinate with Photography team to schedule photo shoots. Ensure Photography team has relevant details to effectively photograph product. Provide feedback on images and assets as required
- Coordinate with Marketing to ensure product copy is accurate and submitted on time
- Continuously test and maintain all catalog data for merchandise on the website to ensure accurate and up to date product pricing, images, promotions and availability
- Manage the product listing process, including assigning product categories and departments
- Code all product images to style and colour conventions
- Monitor front-end website to identify, troubleshoot and/or report on UX issues
- Support Customer Service to address customer inquiries regarding product availability
- Collaborate with Web Design to ensure site merchandising regularly supports concepts, priorities, editorial content and evaluate the success of efforts put forth
- Monitor competitor websites and other industries to understand trends and opportunities to innovate and improve our customer experience and results
- Utilizing various web analytics to generate actionable insights. Leveraging customer data to continuously optimize merchandising strategy and navigational structure of the site and improve the customer journey and experience
- Optimize conversion by creating personalized search and merchandising experiences using tools such as Bloomreach
- Support promotions set up, testing and maintenance as needed
- Maintain best practice SEO strategies for all department, category and product pages
Qualifications & Experience → The Skills You Bring
- Post-secondary degree in Business or related field
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Suite (especially Excel)
- 1-2 years of experience in eCommerce
- Understanding of online merchandising, CRM and site analytics tools including Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Google Analytics, Bloomreach
- Working knowledge of Product Merchandising systems (Merchandising Analytics, Aptos, Momentis)
- Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills and strong interest in learning
- Understanding of the digital retail landscape
- High attention to detail
