Job Description

Points is looking for a Manager, Media Demand Generation to join our team for a permanent position in our downtown Toronto office.

The Manager, Media Demand Generation will be responsible for all paid media buying and marketing activity on multiple worldwide Travel Loyalty Partner accounts supporting Points primary products.

Reporting to Senior Manager, MDG, the person will be responsible for:

  • Prepare MDG campaign media plan and briefs, leveraging experience across Partners for optimal channel selection, targeting strategy and maximize overall effectiveness
  • Media Buying: Hands on media campaign setup across multiple digital paid media channels (including social, display, native, programmatic, video) and working with agencies (SEM, Affiliate) to ensure media is delivered on time with high quality, and campaign performance targets are met or exceeded. Use of first and third-party data and segmentation to reach desired target audiences is an important part of this function.
  • Frequent monitoring & optimization and post-campaign analysis of MDG campaign media performance to maximize campaign revenue and improve MDG campaign budget efficiency.
  • Ongoing review of additional demand generation activities and channels, plus responsibility identifying media and targeting growth opportunities across new/existing channels for Partners under management.
  • Financial Management: Responsibility for day-to-day budget and financial management activity for MDG campaigns across multiple media channels for Partners under management.
  • Ongoing communication with internal and external creative and account teams to align to larger Marketing campaign goals, and ensure creation of required media ad units and copy.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years hands-on experience with paid digital media channel campaign buying and planning, setup, ongoing optimization, measurement & testing. Candidates should have experience with a selection of programmatic display, social, affiliate, and Search media channels.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field.
  • Experience leveraging first and/or third-party data sets to effectively target media audiences, combined with broader media targeting sets.
  • A demonstrated ability to develop, track and improve key performance metrics, including cost-per-lead and cost-per-sale optimization with a strong focus on conversion metrics to drive increased campaign ROI.
  • Proven experience with campaign budgets, departmental/group budgets, and working with Financial/Accounting teams.
  • Strong attention to detail in overseeing complex projects and time-sensitive deliverables.

  • Ownership of select high-value or strategic Performance Marketing accounts, including media strategy, budgets, targeting and channel execution
  • Evolving the Performance Marketing media practice to always-on media, driving awareness and first-time buyers beyond immediate promotion performance
  • Leading the team with individual Partner development of annual Performance Marketing budget/revenue plans, working with Finance and Growth teams on forecasting and reporting
  • Driving media innovation & implementation of new/enhanced Performance Marketing channels, vendor or Points product opportunities, including budgeting, setup and test & measurement plans.
  • Lead the team in ongoing media optimization activity to regularly increase campaign revenue and improve Performance Marketing campaign budget efficiency. Share key wins and insights across Marketing team and support of a continuous improvement culture
  • Accountability to internal Partner team stakeholders to ensure Performance Marketing team campaigns are delivered on time with high quality, and campaign performance targets are met or exceeded.

Qualifications

  • Extensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Paid and owned digital media planning across multiple digital channels, including display programmatic, social, and video (5+ years)
  • Proven experience leading client media performance to consistently meet and exceed revenue and profitability targets while managing significant budgets
  • Significant Digital Marketing experience including branding, awareness and engagement driving campaigns. Hands-on experience with dynamic creative optimization campaigns is also desired.
  • A strong track record of success leveraging first and third-party data to drive media targeting, engagement and performance
  • Strong leadership and team management ability
  • Excellent project and time management skills
  • University or College degree in Business or Marketing preferred

Job Description

Points is looking for a Content Specialist to join our Marketing team for a full-time permanent position.

The ideal candidate is a skilled writer, who is passionate about:

  • Producing effective ad copy that captures a consumer insight and drives desired action
  • Crafting compelling and informative stories that bring to life our brand and our products
  • Capitalizing on data to help guide and create content
  • Testing and building on learnings to challenge the status quo

As a Content Specialist, you’ll be in charge of your own portfolio of creative projects, responsible for delivering a quality finished product, on time. You’ll oversee the creation of (mostly) digital marketing assets for a range of external partners, as well as our own brand and product communications projects, guiding them from the initial brief, through writing, design, and approvals, and then out the door for implementation.

Reporting into the Manager, Content Marketing, the Content Specialist will work closely with the Marketing teams and the Partner teams, and be responsible for:

  • Writing ad copy for a variety of digital channels that engages loyalty program members in our products
  • Project managing creative requests and liaising with the Marketing and Partner teams to see the projects through from initial brief to finished asset
  • Partnering with Creative Design to produce campaign assets that are compelling and on-time
  • Project managing social media creative, seeing through from creation to posting
  • Creating engaging and relevant B2B content in our brand tone of voice
  • Liaising with external vendors, such as translators, to ensure projects are prioritized and delivered on-time
  • Identify opportunities to improve and/or test content and creative

Qualifications

  • Preferred 1-3 years of experience in copywriting, preferably for a variety of audiences, content types and channels
  • Proactive communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented self-starter with the ability to prioritize and juggle multiple deadlines
  • A good understanding of online marketing campaign execution
  • Experience in using Asana is an asset
  • Experience in managing projects in an agency environment and working with multiple brands is a definite asset
