  • Conduct technical training analysis to determine training needs and plan course offerings accordingly
  • Coordinate HV Battery repairs

You will be responsible for preparing and serving coffee, espresso drinks and related food and beverage items to customers.As a Barista, you will:

  • Welcome customers by determining their coffee interests and needs
  • Educate customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu, answering questions
  • Prepare coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, cafe latte, and cappuccino
  • Sell coffee and coffee grinding/brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates
  • Maintain inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and cookies for coffee bar
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store and coffee bar

Join our commitment to providing exceptional food service to the best of business and industry.Job SummaryAssists the Manager on duty with the coordination of activities of associates within the food service department while maintaining the highest standards and levels of customer service.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Shift Managers to supervise multiple food service units.
  • Supervise the production of menu items, ensure completion of cash readings, manage associates, schedule staff working hours, hire and train employees.
  • Learn from and assist the Shift Manager to resolve labour relation issues, track and produce reports on weekly inventories, sales revenue, labour and food cost.
  • Communicate positively and enthusiastically to the café patrons and address their issues promptly.
  • Ensure strict compliance with Compass’ Quality Assurance and Health and Safety Program, Occupational Health and Safety Act and WHMIS regulations.
  • Coordinate frequent workplace inspections and WHMIS training of all staff and promptly report any workplace accident or incident to head office.
  • Ensure Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards are followed in the food preparation process.
  • Prepare coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks, such as, espresso, cafe latte, and cappuccino.
  • Support other departments as required to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Replenish retail offerings and serve orders to the table.
  • Deliver personalized customer service by anticipating guest needs and providing tailored recommendations.
  • Assist in coordinating events, reservations, or special requests as needed.
  • Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

  • At least one year of strong operation food industry management experience.
  • FoodSafe Level 1 Certification.

  • Employee relations experience in a unionized environment is an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
