Leveraging your expertise, you will simplify and standardize processes, leading the transformation of Vale Base Metals’ Procurement Req to Pay processes and systems in partnership with IT, towards a digitally-enabled future to enhance efficiency and value creation withing Vale Base Metals.Additionally, in this position you will:

  • Responsible for managing and aligning a governance model that supports VBM Procurement, to ensure a strategic alignment between these areas. This role provides guidance to teams for effective management of procurement activities, ensuring adherence to Vale’s policies, guidelines and SOX compliance requirements.
  • Manage the controls of the Procurement processes based on Vale’s regulatory system and lessons learned from Internal Audit, Corporate Security, and Internal Controls, monitoring the execution of controls by Procurement teams, feeding back newly identified risks and providing visibility of any processes non-compliance gaps.
  • Lead the team in the design/implementation of all simplification and continuous improvement initiatives related to the Procurement processes, ensuring a balance between flexibility, automation, and control.
  • Lead a high complex and comprehensive Digital Transformation initiative, in partnership with IT, in all procurement and supply chain processes and systems, aligned with VBM’s digital strategy, implementing advanced technologies to streamline processes in order to improve efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and compliance through digital tools identified in the market.
  • Lead initiatives involving the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) into procurement systems. This includes identifying opportunities where AI can enhance decision-making, predict trends, and optimize procurement strategies.

About YouEducation:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Economics, Engineering or related discipline.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in related to procurement (mining, petrochemical or heavy manufacturing industry is preferred).
  • Required experience of 5 years in the management area of a large company or management consulting
  • Experience with Procurement technology/systems implementation

Skills:

  • Fluency in Portuguese is desirable
  • Strong experience in stakeholder management
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices
  • Proven experience in managing several different processes (different subjects) in multi-cultural countries
  • Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
  • Knowledge of supply chain technologies and best practices.
