The Team
The Scotia Digital Global Marketing Technology team is the IT partner for digital marketing at Scotiabank. We support all lines of businesses across Scotiabank’s key digital markets in Canada, Mexico, Peru, Chile, Dominican Republic, and Columbia. Our team is responsible for architecture, development, operationalization, and end-to-end support of marketing technologies at Scotia Digital. https://www.scotiabank.com, the primary customer facing eCommerce web site is a key part of our team’s portfolio. We use leading edge technologies such as Adobe Experience Manager CMS, Akamai CDN, SalesForce.com, and in-house built micro-service software capabilities to deliver the best-in-class eCommerce experience online for Scotiabank customers.
The Role
Contributes to the overall success of Digital Marketing globally ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of Software Production Operations. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Some of the key accountabilities include:
- Optimizing application monitoring tool stack including fine tuning actionable alerts, process improvements, Major Incident procedure review and enhancements to reduce recovery time, in a distributed and semi-scalable environment
- Monitor multiple application health and discover opportunities to optimize in a continuously growing large complex hybrid environment
- Lead on call problem escalation and outage recovery effort, not limited to code fixes in presentation and integration layer, but also provide infrastructure level investigation and support where necessary
- Lead post incident technical retrospect to discover and implement remediation actions by providing hands-on code delivery
- Develop automation solutions and/or procure solutions in optimizing manual operational work
- Lead knowledge transfer and documentation for level 2 and level 3 operations teams
- Map business problems to reusable end-to-end solutions, lead technical configuration, and support deployment throughout the organization
What You Will Bring to Succeed
- 5+ years of experience in supporting complex large-scale customer facing web-based software technology platforms
- Hands-on experience providing production support for node.js based applications
- Hands-on experience integrating Splunk, Dynatrace, Stackdriver, ThousandEyes, PagerDuty.com, or equivalents together to build a highly automated production monitoring & support model
- Excellent understanding of HTTP and IP networking concepts
- Strong problem solving experience with APM tools, such as Dynatrace, Splunk, Stackdriver..etc.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple complex initiatives
